The silence between them said more than any words could. Marco shifted slightly in his seat, intercepting a server’s question about another table. He nodded subtly toward Isabella, his eyes conveying approval at her control of the situation. Marco had always admired her capacity for quiet dominance, the way she could command a room simply by observing it. Today, in this unlikely public arena, she demonstrated the same skill, and Marco recognized it instantly. Against the noise, Sienna’s stillness stood out — not shy, not withdrawn, but watchful, as though she was always cataloguing the details others missed. Marco wandered over, loosening the collar of his jacket, his dark curls damp with sweat. He dropped onto the bench beside Omar with a grin. “Well, well. Look at this little conference.” His gaze slid to Sienna, teasing. “Where’s what’s her name now. Ana? She’s always orbiting you like a satellite.” Sienna’s gaze flickered up. She shrugged once. Marco chuckled. “Not even pretending to miss her, huh?” “She’s probably… busy,” Omar said, a touch indifference.

The city blurred outside the window — cobblestone streets, white buildings, sunlight glinting off marble. After a while, Marco glanced at him in the rearview mirror. “May I ask something personal, Mr. Jay?” Jay raised an eyebrow. “Depends on the question.” Marco chuckled nervously. “Are you… an Alpha or a Beta?” Jay smirked faintly, eyes still on the passing streets. “Neither. I’m an Omega. A dominant one.” Marco blinked, caught off guard. “Ah. I see,” he said with an awkward laugh, eyes darting away. The rest of the drive passed in silence, though Jay could feel the man’s curiosity lingering like static in the air.
