“I’m so sorry.” Marcy looked up at me, her eyes red and swollen. “He didn’t just kill Silas, Regina. He took me. He dragged me away from the life we’d built, from everything we’d dreamed of. And now… I don’t know if I’ll ever get it back.” I reached out, straining against my bonds to take her hand in mine. “We’ll get out of this, Marcy. We’ll make Victor pay for everything he’s done.” She nodded, but there was a sadness in her eyes that told me she didn’t believe it.

Then she spotted it — tucked into the edge of the window frame. A folded note. She pulled it free, fingers trembling. It read: > “There are two killers in this house. One wears your father’s ring. The other wears his guilt.” Her blood turned to ice. There were only two people in the house who matched that description. Lucien… And her. The paper fluttered from her fingers. Something told her this was only the beginning.

She ran towards it, and upon entering, saw Marcel holding a pistol, with two assassins present. “Marcel, what’s going on? Who are they?” Alice asked. “Get out of here, Alice! Don’t come any closer! They’re killers sent by my enemy. They want to kill me, you must leave now,” he shouted, holding the pistol and firing at one of them. “Ah… Marcel, this is terrifying. I… I can’t leave. Please help me, Marcel.” One of the killers took Alice hostage—it turned out they had come in a group of three.

He recounted how Marcus had narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in New York, where someone who resembled him had been decapitated as a warning. 'That damned man, how many families does he intend to hurt?' she thought, her face soaked in tears. Despite everything, Valerie was strong—stronger than even she or Frederick expected—and she wanted to keep listening to the hidden story about Marcus. Valerie paid close attention to every detail, and now she knew the truth: both Marcus and Peter were killers. She had been entangled with murderers. “How can someone so kind, so good to others, be a killer?” Valerie asked aloud.

I asked after a tensed Marcy, whose face was paled and obviously still in awe of what just happened. I went over to where she was seated, able to see the heavy rise of her chest falling high and low. This definitely did a number on her. Was that shot even meant for her? Cause if the killer missed, he should have kept trying. Tho would probably draw attention to where he’s firing from and would still not be able to get to her with how guards instantly surrounded Marcy the moment the shot went into the air, they literally were ready to give their lives up for her.

Marcus smiled faintly. “The same thing he always does.” The assistant frowned. “What?” Marcus’s voice dropped. “He’s about to hit back.” Back in the hospital room. Emily stood up and walked toward Alexander. “You’re smiling.” Alexander looked at her. “Am I?” Emily nodded. “You always smile when you’re about to destroy someone.” Ryan blinked. “Well that sounds terrifying.” Alexander’s voice was quiet. “Marcus Carter tried to kill us.” Emily swallowed. “Yes.” Alexander’s eyes hardened. “So tomorrow…”

“Right now. You and your dogs. And your little wife gets to watch.” Sarah’s eyes met mine. She didn’t cry. She didn’t scream. But she looked terrified. “You think this is a loss for me?” Marcel said, waving his gun around like a lunatic. “This is me cleaning house. This is me finally ending it. You ruined every plan. Every move. Every deal I made.” He pointed a shaky finger at me. “Every time I corner you, you find a way out. Every damn time. Like a ghost. You haunt me. I want you dead, Marco. Gone.”

“I’ll keep you safe.” I laughed out loud. “You might be a badass, but do you know what those assholes in Philly did to my dad? You don’t stand a chance.” He pulled out a roll of bandages. “A lot of those assholes are dead. The De Lucas, Niccolo Marino, even Andre Bianchi.” My mouth fell open. How was that possible? So much had changed in just the last five months. “Who killed them?” I asked. “Killian Ricci.” He wound the bandages around my foot, clamped them, then gestured for the other one.

“Dad, as I said, she’s a criminal. She can’t say her name. She said she’s hiding. Hiding with someone else’s face, meaning everyone in the pack wants her dead.” Marcy’s mom agreed. “What about this? Why don’t we call the pack house and tell Alpha Levi that we have some imposter here?” Marcy gasped. “Mother, that is smart. But a thought just came to me now. What if this imposter is one of those things, the ones they warned us about? What were they called again?” Marcy’s father said in a cold voice, “Arch-Demons.” Marcy clapped. “Yes, Father. Arch-Demons. To think that my poor parents had been hosting arch-demons in their own homes without knowing. It must be shocking for you too.”

Marcia took the chance and ran down to the basement while Marshall’s body shook and his hands that were up in the air coiled onto tight fists before he lowered them. He slowly turned around, and our gazes met. My tears fell while his eyes began to water. “I want to fuck her.” He said in a hoarse voice, and I could hear the pain in it. ‘Gamma Austin, Lexi! Help!’ I connected with the Gamma couple as I kept staring at Marshall. ‘Marcia went to the security building…And her heat came early. I’m sorry.’ I didn’t hear the rest of the conversation in my head because Marshall’s words shattered me again. ‘Help me…’
