What happens is the monster either possesses its victim or shape-shifts. I’m not sure, but it’s one of them, and the victims are usually one of the mates.” My stare drifts up to see she’s zoned out. Her face has gone pale, that whitish pallor that reminds me of the corpse I’ve seen. She doesn’t bat a lash, just remains still while she stares absently at me.

Their eyes met, and finally the silence broke between them. "What is it you want to say?" Mark asked gently, his gaze sincere, making Julie swallow hard as she remembered her current situation—single, with her partner in prison. If Liam truly was the perpetrator, then there was no hope for her future with him. The look that Mark had, which was directed at Julie, immediately made the girl forget that she promised Liam to fix everything. "Elizah keeps screaming hysterically whenever she hears or mentions the word 'monsters.' I take it that 'monsters' is plural, meaning more than one person committed this crime against her," Julie said, her voice calmer than before.

A blush crept to her cheeks instantly, and she looked away, pretending to focus on drying his hair. Kaliya took a quiet breath, remembering the “mate” thing. The question had been sitting on her chest and so, she found the courage to ask. “You said I was your mate… earlier.” Her voice was quiet and hesitant. “What does that mean?” Levi stilled slightly under her touch. His gaze lifted to meet hers in the mirror. “Mates,” he said slowly, “is something common with werewolves. It’s… more than just love.” He turned his face a little, watching her reaction. “A mate is your soulmate, your life partner. Someone you're destined to be with forever.”

"A supper hero hell-bent on getting her brother a mate." When I say this her once lighted up face crumbles into a small frown. She tilts her head. "What is a mate?" I stand on my feet with a sigh before I walk to her and help her get down from the bed. It's almost as if it squeaks happily at me. "A mate is something that most supernatural beings have. I wouldn't say that they are a thing, it's more like a person and this person is the other half of a supernatural being's soul."

Authors POV Alpha Ray then stopped for a moment to look into her eyes more. As they gazed, they saw themselves trying to whisper something. They tried to open their mouth to speak and what came out of their mouth shocked even they themselves. "MATE!" They froze. Immediately, they crossed necks and bit each other on their neck. After that, they released themselves and look at the bite mark they had just placed on themselves. Alpha Ray smiled. "I found you!" he said to her.

He moaned just as I felt a cold wall behind me. He slid his tongue again inside my mouth as I met his with mine. When my tongue was nearly out, he sucked it, making me moan in pleasure.
