Her thighs clenched at the memory of how he’d taken her hours ago, savage, reverent, like she was both altar and offering.
“You’ve been marked,” he said softly.
Jolene blinked and sat up, the sheet slipping down to reveal her bare chest. She looked down—and there it was.
A symbol had bloomed across the skin just beneath her collarbone black and vivid, like freshly spilled ink. It looked ancient. Circular, demonic. Part flame, part fang. It pulsed faintly with heat, as if still alive.
“What the hell is this?”
Guriel’s hand came up, tracing it with a single clawed finger. “My claim.”
