Memory Orbs Inside Out Novels & Stories

Ten large orbs floated in the middle of the room, lining each other like a planetary alignment with a large glass staircase spiralling around them up to the roof. Each orb held different colours and Hazel pointed at the second orb, a brownish gold orb with hues of white and silver. At the same time she was pointing at it, the orb pulsated with energy. The energy was like a gentle sonic wave and it hit only me. The orb suddenly turned into a world map and my eyes zoomed into the planet. The world spun for a bit and my vision took me to Asia. My eyes continued to zoom in, pinpointing a location and then I was thrown out into another vision.

and I´d gladly sacrifice myself for it. I would have thought this was just some prop from a movie if it weren't for that weird blue light emanating from the inside of the vehicle. It's not something that can be created by special effects or any of that sort. It looked like something from out of this world—divine even. Is that really a spaceship? It can't be! Could it be? Or did I just finally snapped and I'm hallucinating right now? I rubbed my eyes hard just to make sure I am awake. Nope, I'm not dreaming and its still there!

"We'll go together." The others followed. We crossed the doorway. The world changed again. We stood in a vast chamber filled with floating memories. Thousands. Millions. Each contained a different moment. A childhood. A war. A friendship. A betrayal. A choice. At the center floated a single golden sphere. Astra stared at it. "The Memory Core." Orionis's expression changed. "It was believed to have been destroyed." Liam approached cautiously. "What does it do?" Orionis answered quietly.

Taking a deep breath, she stepped closer to the pedestal. As her fingers touched the cool surface of the orb, a surge of energy coursed through her. Her vision blurred, and the world around her dissolved into a swirl of colors and memories. Clara found herself standing in a lush meadow, the sun shining brightly overhead. Laughter echoed around her, and she turned to see two children running through the grass—a boy and a girl, their faces radiant with joy. Her heart swelled as she realized they were her children, though they appeared older than they should have been.

Why else would I have become unconscious for so many hours if there were no drugs in my body? I racked my brain but I remembered drinking water. I poured it myself from the bottle so it didn’t make sense. Could someone have slipped something in while I wasn’t looking? My head started aching again. “Let’s go inside,” I said. Emmy ran over with a glowing ball like thing. It looked like an aquarium of sorts. It had a fish and some stars inside. She tossed it to the ground and it lit up. I smiled.

I hold out my palm as one of the orbs bobs and swirls in my direction, and I slowly, carefully, curl my hands around it, cupping it with an immense amount of care. Zayn steps closer, carefully dodging the orbs floating right over the top of his head. My powers prickle in my fingertips and turn the orb a shocking crimson for several seconds before it settles, but the image within has changed. I look up at Zayn, breathless, wondering if I should somehow pop the orb to stop him from watching as a dark moment of his life plays out in haunting detail, but I know, deep down, I need to see this. I want to see it, too.

I didn't know that I had done the wrong thing. The orb began to crack slowly. My heart began to beat faster as the cracking increased. Before I knew it, the orb broke and a thick greenish black smoke entered into me and I fainted.

Come here. I reached out, trying to feel her and after a walking a few steps,, her fingers interlaced with mine. She pulled me hard and I stumbled, running into her back. Olivia chuckled but reached out in front of her. Her hand left mine as she reached out with the other hand as well. Turning to me, she was holding two glowing orbs. Her eyes found mind and she smiled brightly. 'What…?' 'Hold out your hands.' I nodded and held out my hands. She the orbs felt like glass but the hummed with a warmth. I pulled them to my body, scared I was going to drop them and they would break. Olivia smiled.

I looked at her clueless. “These are all of your memories when you were still young. I took it when you were still a boy and now the right time came and I will return it to you.” Her voice echoed but I didn’t have time to answer when the spheres of water slowly went in my direction. I panicked when the water spheres slowly entered my body. Who would not panic when you saw something entering your body?! I groaned when my head started to hurt again. My vision became blurry again. I was stunned when I noticed that I’m in a different place. I was like in a dream. No, it was a memory, a memory of long ago. Where it all started.

But today, something felt a little bit off. A strange pull. A crackling tension in the air. Her skin tingled, not from the orb’s warmth, but from something darker sliding under her awareness. Suddenly, her eyes snapped open. The orb’s color was shifting—blotches of shadow bleeding into its light. It trembled against the floor, its harmony disrupted. “What is this?” she murmured, pressing her hand to its surface. A jolt of pain shot up her arm. She gasped and yanked back. Her vision blurred. The world around her flickered. In a flash, she saw herself standing alone on a battlefield, the orb cracked and drained in her hands, and shadows closing in from all sides.
