Mercenary Enrollment Chapter 1 Novels & Stories

Worn edges. I don’t search long—I remember the symbol marking the chapter. A simple circle, like a full moon, and beneath it a short line: “Whoever sees this, remember: this is neither blessing nor curse. This is power.” A chill runs down my spine. I read faster than I should. The language is old, but the meaning is clear.

Vic tried to kill him, and he nearly killed Vic himself! “A werewolf can't have friends,” Yarsi whispered like a spell, but how desperately he didn't want to believe it. This is not the end. Mercenaries never leave an order unfinished. They will attack again, but now not openly, and if they fail again, they will repeat their attempt. And then again and again, until they achieve their goal. Peace is too much of a luxury for you….

He was not in the Violet Manor, where he had friends everywhere to help him. At the thought of this, Xiao Chen was worried. Yesterday, he heard Yang Qing said that there were mercenaries in many places in Wastelands. Some of them worked for money. Some of them were outlaws, and some of them were retired from some major forces. The fighting capacity of these people was very high. As long as they could afford the money, they would be absolutely loyal. If they wanted to build their own forces, there would be a need to use these mercenaries in the early stage. Taking a deep breath, Xiao Chen paced back and forth in the yard. In the past, he never worried about money, but now he was in Wastelands

I refuse. Enzo wouldn't hurt anyone. He wouldn't, he couldn't. "Welcome new recruits to the Hunter's association. Welcome all to the Archane order." My uncle finishes, driving another dart into my already discombobulated psych. "We are all excited to begin your new chapter with us. " Dammit, what rabbit hole have I fallen into?

As soon as I walked in, about a dozen blades were aimed at me. “Halt!” a voice growled. I dropped to one knee in the sand, gasping dramatically. “Don’t shoot. Please, I’m just a mercenary! Just looking for coin! I need work.” Before I knew it, four scouts surrounded me. I could see the suspicion in their eyes. I expected this. A tall man stepped forward. I could tell he was a sergeant by the shoulder plating. One of his eyes had a deep scar. “You’ve got guts, walking in like that.” He said “Or you’ve got a death wish.”

My claws stretch out and I find my target. His soft fleshy neck is ripped out before I land back on the ground. I shift back and howl towards the sky. My savage animal instincts are in complete control. I spin around and laugh at the 7 shaking men that are left. How Alpha Leif thought his men would ever over power the top paid mercenaries in the world is beyond me. Two of the men left are deserters of Silver Tail. I immediately approach them and rip their throats out just like I promised.

I'm sure if I asked around I would be able to find out more about V7. " Hey! You! Redhead!" I looked behind me but saw no Redheads.... wait a minute... aren't I a redhead when I turn human? I turn back to the drunk guard that was struggling to stay in his seat and pointed at myself while giving a puzzled look. " Yeah! You! Are you a gladiator as well?" He confirmed as he pointed at my feet. " No, I'm more of a sword for hire. A mercenary." I shook my head and clarified.

He will have a hard time being gentle. ///♡/// We are only 10+ chapters away from the ending. Stay tuned! Luv y'all ♡

***************** AUTHOR’S NOTE This chapter marks a turning point where vengeance sharpens, alliances form, and the true nature of each character begins to unravel. I wanted to show not just the tension between power and pain, but the vulnerability that lingers beneath every choice they make. Emmanuelle’s strength, Drake’s transformation, and the quiet intensity of Adam’s planning all collide here and it’s only the beginning. Thank you for reading. If you’re enjoying the story so far, your support, feedback, or even just a comment goes a long way. I can’t wait to show you what’s coming next.f
