Meredith let out a soft laugh. “Yeah, not the kind of thing you see every day.”
Florence set her glass down. “Might as well enjoy it while you can,” she said, looking straight at Adrian.
I stepped forward immediately, ready to go off, but Adrian’s hand tightened around mine, stopping me.
Meredith laughed softly. “See? Already getting aggressive. Guess that’s what happens when you start mixing in places you don’t belong.”
