Merlin Fiction Novels & Stories

Yet another fantasy Prologue Legora, the largest capital city in the world. Once one of nine, now there are four. We had lost five cities in the great calamity. Creatures from god knows where poured in from a tear in the earth. A dimensional tear in space and time the men of science called it, but really who the fuck knows? All I know is they were bigger, stronger, looked nothing like us and they outnumbered us hundred to one.

Mr Philip went in, took a seat and turned on all the computers so he could have eyes all over the house. "Oh my God! If I'd known that archaeologists could be this rich, I'd gone into the business a long time ago," Kurt remarked. "You'd be surprised how much rich people are willing to pay for lost ancient artefacts," Micah said to him. "So, now what?" Lydia asked Mr Philip. He got off the seat and came back into the main room. "Well, whatever happens next is up to you kids. You can decide to try and go back to your regular lives and pretend like none of this is happening all the while trying to avoid being hunted by a magical assassin from your realm or..."

My soul ignites afresh at that sight. Destiny is so close to getting all I've ever wanted permanently, and I will not allow that. I straighten in my seat and grit out steadily, "Give me the poison." Merlin pauses for a moment, her shadow phantom's eyes on me as she watches me. The silence holds for a while until she breaks it. "What kind of poison?" A devious smile pulls at the corner of my lips. "Something slow and painful. I want her to die in pain and anguish."

The leather was ancient, its edges worn with time, but the golden runes across it still shimmered as though freshly etched. Rael felt a pulse through his sword, a faint recognition. The same feeling he had experienced in the fight—an unspoken connection between the blade and the darkness that had opposed them. His grip tightened. Elior slowly opened the book. The pages within were filled with symbols unlike any they had encountered before, some shifting even as they looked at them. Myrra leaned closer, her eyes narrowing. “This isn’t just a language,” she murmured. “It’s an imprint. A recording of something ancient.”

Where the magic hit, her skin repaired itself before our eyes. Hellion ran a hand over her hair, his touch as gentle as the look in his eyes. "I hope she hasn't poisoned you against me, niece. You are destined for more than an ignoble death at the hands of lesser beings than Directs. You are meant to shine." With his last word, the motes flared to bright golden life. Her eyes opened as she took her first breath. Gold mingled with the pure silver mercury of her eyes as power flooded her.

"A goddess, nonetheless. I am unfamiliar with this Merlin. If you could please provide us with a brief history, we will be better able to determine if we can assist in whatever capacity you require." Ari nodded. "Merlin was a wizard of some repute. He once aided kings before our times progressed beyond their system of rule. Legend says that he is the bastard child of a demon and noble woman. He's immensely powerful, able to shape-shift, change perceptions of reality, and control the elements." I looked up at my grandmother, my mouth hanging open. "And you think I can beat him by myself?"

He hums and puts it to one side. “My Love?” Claire calls quietly, he looks up and smiles at her, then nods to Ash. They walk over, and the large room now has dozens of books scattered on most surfaces, and various bottles of stuff with various coloured liquids in them scattered among the books. Merlin has gone back to looking at the liquid then the latest book and sighing, Claire goes to him and puts a hand on his arm lightly, “Mer. Still a moment.” He nods, puts the vial down and gives her his hands. “Sorry. This is perplexing.” Ash sighs and leans against a desk.

And for a necromancer like him, that was saying something. Merline was slouching at the corner of his room. The lights were off but because of the enhance night vision of the Halfling alongside the pungent stench of the weeks-worth laundry set aside at the other corner, Levi the Envious was able to second guess the entirety of Merlin’s newly fetish for a hermit life.

I’m sorry I made you cry a few times while reading, but I made it up to you with a happy-ish ending. You may recognise Merlin from the legends about King Arthur, but this story is more closely related to the Merlin series with Colin Morgan and Bradley James. I’ve always loved the show and made this story with it in mind. I threw in a few Easter eggs from the show into it, so I wonder if you can spot them all. With your big brain, you probably can :) Hint: Eggs are mostly in dialogue, descriptions, and names ;)

This time, Richard’s eyes didn’t role but a instead a small smile crept onto his face. “This one is a little more interesting. There are many notations that suggest that Merlin was a real person, just not a man. Some sources suggest that Alpha Excalibur had a witch working for him. Most suggest that the witch was imprisoned while others say that it was Excalibur’s lover. It is hard to know which is truth but all agree that even then Eli’s family wanted close connections with magic.” “Do we know anything else about Excalibur previous to his battle with Arthur?”
