But his words die in his throat as she suddenly lets out an ear-piercing scream before the scream quickly turns inhumane. He freezes, his eyes widening as the scream turns into a growl, and Maia's body heats up in his arms. Charon lets her go, realizing what's happening as she tosses and turns in agony before fur sprouts all over her body. Claws surface where fingernails used to be, and her screams get louder as her body twists and turns. Soon, her screams are not the only sounds filling the room, but also the ripping of fabric and the snapping of wood as the bed she's on cracks under the strain of her metamorphosis.
