Alastair simply nodded, the jeweller exhaled in visible relief and ten minutes later, the ring was boxed, paid for, and tucked into Alastair’s coat pocket.
“Right,” Hero said, clapping his hands together. “Clothes. You can’t keep pretending to be a cleaner in a suit that costs more than my car.”
“Lefties,” Laird said immediately.
Alastair frowned. “Lefties?”
“Affordable people clothes,” Hero said. “You know, for your cover. We can’t have you turning up in Armani while claiming to mop floors.”
“I hate both of you,” Alastair muttered, but he followed them out.
