One by one, the heads opened their cold, malevolent eyes and grinned with feral malice. My scream shattered into nothingness. I opened my eyes to a stabbing pain in my arm. ~Author’s POV~ "This track is called the Serpent's Back. It's a narrow road that goes up a mountain. There's no fence. Just a big drop off the side. People have crashed here. One guy died last year," Simon said, his eyes shining with amusement. Harriet listened, but she didn't look scared. She was looking at her car, a simple silver Mazda. She touched it. It looked old, but she could tell it had been taken care of. The tires were good. The engine sounded smooth and strong.

I tighten my grip on David and ask, "Your proclamation—what's the big picture? Where do you see this going? I'm curious, Alpha Nicodra. Do you have any specific ideas regarding how exactly you're going to resurrect our culture?" He lifts his glass to me and says, "I'm happy to hear your interest. All I could hope for her to be happy and never come back to this place . I got up from the park bench . The early morning sun didn't help much with the cold either.
