"O-Of course. We're friends." Satisfied with my response, Bethany finally let go of my arm and followed me inside. I opened the door, but the office was pitch-black. "Dad, these are the friends I mentioned, the ones coming to work here for the summer," I said cautiously. Before I could introduce them, they pushed past me and crowded into the room. "Hello, Mr. Parker. We're here for the summer jobs. May I know what the pay is like? Is ten thousand dollars a month okay? Oh, and I'm not really into factory work. Can I get an office job instead?"

Hey everyone! ❤️ Just a quick clarification on the timeline for my readers and to clear up any confusion: Mia turned 19 in mid-July. She had already completed her freshman year of university earlier that year. After the academic year ended, the university runs an optional 8-week Summer Intensive Session (sometimes called Supplementary Term). This is when students can take extra courses, retake classes, or do specialized programs — especially athletes like Ethan and Jake who use it for conditioning and credits.

**** Waupaca High School. It was the second week of their summer vacation. The Belmont High School bus loaded with the Belmont Braves cheerleading and football teams stopped. Everyone got off the bus and looked around them. It seemed that all Division 7 participants were there to join the one-week summer camp. It seemed that there were more people here than all people combined in Belmont town. “What? Getting agoraphobia?” Eric mocked Elise who stopped to watch all the people around them. She frowned and hit him in the ribs with her elbow. Eric just grinned and rubbed his side playfully but did not feel pain at all. Their two groups were guided by each of their coaches, and they placed their

a cover house, enough to stay in, but not meant for long-term living for them. After a while, as the sun starts to set, Rita and Alex gather in the living room. Instead of cooking, Rita ordered Chinese food, so we’re sitting around a table of delicious grease and spicy chicken, eating out of take-out boxes. “Okay, so, I’ll meet with the Malkeyes tomorrow. Alex, you go back to school, and I swear to God, if you stray off—” “I won’t,” he grumbles. When I look up at him, he gazes at me for a moment before looking away. “Damn right you won’t. Be on your best behavior. Anyway, Cynthia. You need to chat it up with your mom. If everything seems fine on her end, convince her you’ve gotta go to a su

I understood that they didn’t like his behavior as well. “Oh, I forgot to tell you! Remember about the news?” Mia started. “Oh, right!” I stated. “So, school is planning to gather senior students and organize a trip to Big Bear Lake for a week after the Christmas! We are going to stay in the ski resort, called Snow Summit!” Mia explained. “Wow! It’s so cool! Who is going to come?” Linc asked and raised his hand, waiting for others to do the same. All of us, including James, raised our hands.

Since 2004, nearly $150 million has been invested into Henry Maier Festival Park, including permanent stages, bars, production space, VIP amenities, and other infrastructure. Summerfest also showcases a wide variety of food from many Milwaukee-area restaurants. Other Summerfest attractions include shopping vendors, fireworks (including "The Big Bang" on opening night), family activities, and more. Summerfest is operated by Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. a non-profit organization, which is governed by a volunteer board of directors. In its 50+ year history, Summerfest has hosted a variety of well-known artists, including Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Metallica, Whitney Hous

And just like that, we put up a secret shoot at the Manor, to include a little surprise for Brandon on his grand finale. Brett called me the next day, as the official spokesperson for his boss’ request. There had been no more scuffles or troubles of any kind between the pervs at Quaker Hall and the children crusaders at Tinicum Hall, but they were holding a special summer night event on the 20, the Horror Camp or something like that. The grounds would be brimming with people who would take part in haunted attractions, escape games, and all kinds of fun indoors and outdoors from dusk to dawn, including a ghost hunt in the Mayflower building and Quaker Hall. There would be a ton of security sp

“That’s partnership. You need to be there for your film. We’ll make the logistics work.” The idea was both appealing and terrifying. Having her family present versus managing children at a professional event. Support versus complication. “Let me see which festivals we get into first. Then we decide logistics.” That afternoon, Charlotte came home from pre-K with information about summer camp options. The school offered a summer program three weeks in July, half-day structure, enrichment activities. “Can I go to summer camp? PLEASE? Sophie is going and Emma and Zoe and EVERYONE!” Charlotte was enthusiastic. “They do ART and SCIENCE and WATER PLAY!”

The campers arrived for the first session of the summer in due course and things slid smoothly into the routine I loved so much. I know we call them worms, but we pretty much like most of them. It is surprising how much, actually, given that virtually all of their families run the gamut from pretty damned rich to stonkingly loaded. It is hard not to be a spoiled brat when you are born that wealthy. But get these teenagers off into a primitive environment, away from phones, symbols of status, expensive clothes (mostly), and especially their doting parents and loyal retainers, and they learn to be human beings pretty quickly. Each session was four weeks long, which was plenty of time to deprog

They are used to being served, whether it's by their parents or servants who work for their families. But none of them dared to argue and protest the words of Mr Jims. One of the goals of holding this summer camp is to develop hobbies and fill the holidays and make children become better and independent individuals. After all, they also had their own test needs with Mr Jims. They certainly didn't want to give this man a wrong impression.
