The ground shook as the book opened itself shaking off it's possessor with a strong wind The roof of the house creaked from the force of the wind She looked on amazed at the events unfolding before her the home she had for 10 years turned to chaos by the wind coming off from the book yet she could not stop looking at it ‘A..l..ice!!!!!' Her dad screamed.

I opened an ancient tome—so old that the pages were elegantly scribed by an individual rather than a machine. The artwork caught my attention first. In the section header was a drawing of a person with a wolf’s head. I read the passage below and sucked in a shallow breath.

” Clarissa called out. “You don’t need to know who I am. You only need to read,” the voice said easily. She stirred at the book, which looked like any other book, but was definitely not. Swallowing hard, she turned over the first page, and something went through her eyes at once, making her trip. She fell on the stones, but her grip on the book didn’t loosen. Her free hand went to her forehead as a cold headache ignited and she softly kneaded it, lessening the pain at once. What was that? Slowly, she sat up, but the whole place was bright and blinding. She tried to close her eyes, but could not.

Immediately a smile shoots up on my face and I picked the book up to inspect it. I wanted to read this so I turned and still staring at the book, reading what the book was about. I hit something or should I say I bumped heads with something or someone possibly.. " fuck " I winced in pain before backing away and hitting the cabinet with my foot, causing me to sprain my ankle.. I'm sure I sprained it.

She continued to look down at the book, refusing to make eye contact. “How do you suppose your journal got there?” he asked. She looked him in the eye, doing her best to keep a straight face. “I was walking home last night, and I lost it somewhere. Maybe they found it.” He studied her. Finally, he said, “Maybe.” They stood there, in silence. “The weirdest thing of all,” he continued, “is that, before I went completely unconscious, I could have sworn I saw you there, standing over me, yelling at those guys to leave me alone….Isn’t that crazy?”

Natalia I was so bored. Daniel had told me not to do any housework but I was sorely tempted to start dinner just to have something to do. I found a book and tried to read like he told me. The book didn't hold my attention, though. My life has been much more interesting lately than some crime novel. My whole life had been boring before I met him. I hadn't realized it while I was living it. After meeting Daniel , it was like I was living in color now, but my previous life had all been black and white.

Pearl yells at the closed door and Gwen giggles. Slowly the other women file in. I load up a bowl of potato soup that Julie brought. She even fried up some bacon to sprinkle on top and I think I've died and gone to Heaven. We're on the downward swing of it now, the main conflict resolved with only the aftermath of the battle left to go through. It's a more emotional part of the story and I'm surprised Pearl even read it.

I wake up the next morning with my head buzzing. I had been up most of the night trying to figure all of this out. None of it made sense. It's not fair, on the crime shows and on the mystery books all of the pieces fit together perfectly if you really think about it, why doesn't this? Stupid life, it's time to be more like a book.

I hugged the her immediately “You came,” I whispered. “You know I would.” She answered. And in her hands, wrapped carefully was the book. She unwrapped it and my breath caught. My mother didn’t speak, she just simply let the cloth fall away. The air charged more. The pressure could be felt. Kael had a horrified face staring at the book. It was entwined in vines— Blood vines. The raw power from the book pressed against my skin, my lungs, my bones—everywhere.
