OLIVIA Ever imagined the sensation of a massive brick wall falling on your head or the impact of a truck hitting you, sending you flying over the road with your head colliding against a hard concrete wall? That's precisely what I feel right now. It's like the brick is repeatedly crashing onto my head, and the little guy in my head, meant to catch the brick, is preoccupied trying to piece together everything that happened last night.

I stopped and looked back, puzzled. Seeing the complete lack of recognition in my eyes, Sarah finally broke down, tears streaming down her face. I frowned, got into the car waiting by the curb, and left without hesitation. In the rearview mirror, Sarah's figure, crouched by the roadside sobbing, gradually shrank and disappeared.

Orlando and I had been together for ten years. I'd looked after his sick mom, sweating out a fever of my own, and where was he? Knocking back drinks with Rosalind, playing therapist to her broken heart. I swallowed my pride at work, getting chewed out by my boss, while he spent the night companying Rosalind because she had cramps. Then, when I got the news my mom had passed, I tried calling him, desperate for support. But nope—phone off. After a wild goose chase, turns out he was at Rosalind's graduation. That was it. I gave up. But Orlando wouldn't let go. Red-eyed, he begged me for just one more chance.

That confident voice cut through the restaurant noise, and I looked up. It was an incredibly handsome face—and somehow familiar. Wait... where did I know him from? Why did my brain always short-circuit at moments like this? "Still drawing a blank, huh?" He leaned in closer, and his smile triggered a flood of memories. Those high school days, That moment of teenage cluelessness. "Mrs. Reynolds! Ella's passing notes in class!" I'd been caught daydreaming, and someone had ratted me out. I spun around to see the same troublemaker grinning at me.

I was ready to wake up, ready to face the truth and take back control of my life. As I stood there, listening to Bridgette's words, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. My mind was reeling, trying to process the sheer amount of information that was being thrown at me. I felt like I was on the verge of a mental breakdown, like my mind was going to explode from the pressure. I closed my eyes, trying to calm myself down, but it was no use. I still couldn't remember anything. My memories were still shrouded in a thick fog, refusing to come back to me.

Ignorance was certainly not bliss in her case, Penny thought with a wry smile. If she had not been so appallingly ignorant in the first place this might never have happened. She pulled herself up sharply. Nothing had happened yet, but no doubt that could be accounted for quite easily... Nerves, over fatigue, the sudden change in her way of living. She was imagining all these things. It was all her guilty conscience, she told herself severely. This was fates way of paying her for doing wrong.

It was now I was beginning to regain my consciousness. I saw myself waking up on my bed inside my room, which was impossible because I didn't remember driving home after having that much drink last night. I faintly opened my eyes turning to the alarm to see what time it was, and to my surprise, I had actually slept through the whole day. It was midday already. I stood up and went to mirror, I was a mess. I sobbed in disbelieve that I would ever end up like this. I let myself get played.

Andien complained. Instead of thinking about Kenan's rejection, Andien decided to close her eyes. Andien did not know that Mark had arrived and was talking to Kenan outside the treatment room. "What happened?" Mark asked after handing over the bag Irah had given him. "I don't know. The doctor said Andien's headache was caused by an earlier collision," Kenan replied. "A bump?" Kenan nodded silently. Kenan hadn't stopped regretting his actions since the doctor said that the possible cause of Andien's headache was a previous collision that hadn't been treated to the maximum.

It sets you free. She prayed she and Beau and her siblings and friends stayed happy and loving in their relationships. They had been through a lot together. They broke each other yes, but they fixed those cracks with gold and it was beautiful.
