I wasn't thinking about the warehouse or the money the Russos would lose. I was thinking about how to eradicate them. I let Iris go so she could see the truth. I was letting her see that the world she missed so much was the same world that just called her a whore on national TV. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [ MIRA’S POV ] I checked the clip on my Glock and slid it into the holster at my hip. A wicked grin spread across my face. Salvatore finally gave me something fun to do.

Her eyes were closed, her face peaceful, and she was translucent—not quite solid, not quite a ghost. A memory given form. Seren's breath caught. "That's Mira. She was a candidate. The network took her in the third year of the loop. She was one of the first." The figure—Mira—opened her eyes. They were not hollow. They were bright, aware, and they fixed on Seren with an expression of profound gratitude.

Kade’s attention shifted instantly, sharp and suspicious, landing on Mira. “So what?” He asked, his tone edged with accusation. “She’s suppressing her wolf?” I followed his gaze. Mira stood near the head of the bed, her hands clenched tightly at her sides, her face pale but controlled. “Mira,” I said, my voice quieter now, but no less intense. “Look at me.” She didn’t. Her gaze stayed fixed somewhere over Aria’s shoulder, unfocused, like she was trying very hard not to think. That alone was enough to set my instincts on edge.

From the edge of the ring, a familiar voice cuts through the noise, smooth and lazy. “That’s what she said the last three years,” Mira drawls. “And she still can’t even grow a single fang.” More laughter. Mira’s dark hair is braided in intricate loops, her body lean and strong in a fitted training top. Future Luna material, everyone says. Powerful bloodline. Early shifter. Full control. Everything I’m not. I roll my shoulders back, forcing myself to meet her gaze. “One more time,” I tell Rowan. He sighs like I’m wasting the entire pack’s oxygen. “Fine. Last time. Then you need to get ready.”

~Iris POV The sun had just begun to dip behind the western hills, casting long amber streaks through the tall windows of my private chambers. Mira sat cross-legged on the floor, leaning against the velvet sofa, a small smirk on her face as she held a video tape in her hands. I raised an eyebrow, curious and slightly wary. “You brought this?” I asked, trying to keep my voice steady. “I did,” Mira said, shrugging casually. “Thought you might want to see… how your little wolves are doing.”

she winked. Mira is a certified witch! How the hell does her mind work?! "Why would I trick you?" "You have done that before, so I don't trust you" she shrugged. A got up from her seat. "Let me go and polish that doll a bit. Who knows, she might hook up with a Mafia Don in the club", she said with a teasing smile, and sashayed out of my room. Isn't she supposed to be with Grandma preparing for their upcoming fashion show?

But he was still supposed to inform me that he was travelling. “Yeah,” I nodded. “I had a lot in my mind that I forgot. You know Kieran, he is always travelling.” She forced a smile and stretched out her hand to shake me. “I'm Mira,” she introduced. Mira? As in Mira, Kieran's secretary. The only woman who can look into Kieran's burning eyes and not get burnt. “Wow,” I said, taking her hand. “It's a pleasure to finally meet you.”

Mira’s POV “I’m merely carrying out instructions Luna Mira.” For some sudden reason, she seems irritated. I try to take my kind off it over and over again but nothing seems to be working. “Exactly what orders are you carrying out? And from whom?” “Luna Mira, please accept my pardon. I was strictly informed to not disclose this, I was only instructed to do nothing but my job and nothing more.” Her eyes stay focused on my zip. “You address me as your Luna and yet you keep things from me. Right before my presence, you are trying to shift things under the carpet.”

So I decided to direct all my anger at the culprit, not the victims of her evil acts. “You can leave, but expect your punishment tomorrow at the training ground.” I dismissed him and turned back to Mira. After Cole left, I fixed my eyes on Mira for like fifteen minutes before speaking up. “What do you have to say about the rogue that crossed the borders?” I asked her. Her hands trembled as she signed, "W... wh... at..." "Stop your stuttering, you liar!" I growled, causing her to jump slightly. She looked at me with unshed tears in her eyes, the fear evident on her face. "You don't even know who I'm asking about, right?"

“That’s our next stop.” Liam grabbed his blades. “We go together.” “No,” Mira said. “I go in first. Alone. If she’s a key, I might be the only one who can unlock what’s in there.” Grey growled. “We’re not letting you walk into another trap.” Mira looked at him, fierce and resolute. “You’re not letting me do anything. I’m already in it. This is my blood. My echo. My war.” Her wolf surged beneath her skin, not wild, but focused. Hungry.
