Rian’s POV The book was ancient, its leather cover cracked and worn, yet it hummed with a strange warmth beneath my fingertips. I had returned to the hidden library alone after Mira had gone to fetch more cookies. My fingers traced the sigil etched into the spine—an ornate symbol that matched the one from my vision. A twisted crescent, a serpent coiled in silver ink, and a starburst I somehow knew was not from this world. “The Sigma Mirror,” I read aloud, the name sending a ripple of energy through the air.

she whispered, but the words were swallowed by the air around her. Then she saw it—a large, old book in front of her, resting on a pedestal. It was glowing faintly, its pages turning on their own as if guided by an unseen hand. There was a strange swan-like symbol in the center of the book, surrounded by a circle of light. The brightness almost hurt her eyes, but she couldn’t look away.

Mother Agnes says. "Okay," I say. I follow Mother Agnes to another room. Libby follows up, bringing the book. There is a table with candles and a black and purple cloth resting neatly on it. The three of us sit at the table. Libby scoots the book to Mother Agnes for her to open. Mother Agnes says something over the book in almost a whisper. The book opens. The book seems to take on a life of its own. The page race from the beginning to the end and then settle on the first page.

Her green eyes immediately began to glow as she had started using her magic. “Show me the secret I wish to find,” she hissed and immediately, the book immediately started opening on its own. Amelia shook her head as she didn’t think she would ever get used to all the mystical and magical things that happened in this world. The book finally stopped opening itself as it got to the pages which Cara had asked it to reveal. Amelia looked down at the book and she saw the white fire she had walked into at the temple.

The volumes’ binding was smooth leather, and the stitching was gold. Long, smooth letters were intricately painted across the front, and her hand brushed them softly. It was the most precious book in the world. Reaching down, she pulled it out and flipped to the page she desired. There it was in thick black letters, the word luck. The pages of the book were filled with names and places, a guide to every gifted being in the land. It was centuries old and was only written on by the top magistrate himself, the king’s second in command

It made me laugh. I waved my hand and within seconds, an advanced spell book appeared. "Happy birthday, Mirai!" I said and gave her my gift. Her eyes widened and glimmered. "Wow! Advance Spell Book? Waah, thank you, sister! You're the best!" she said while jumping and hugging the book like it’s the most precious treasure in the world. Pft.
