Genevieve handed her the third dish, its bitter liquid forced down her throat.
Estelle’s voice rose above the others, the flames surging higher. A glowing blue snake coiled around them, binding them together. Chloe’s arms stretched out, her eyes fixed on the sky. Lightning crackled in the distance, growing closer until it struck at her feet, leaving the women stunned.
Chloe opened her eyes, lowering to her knees. “Sisters, thank you.”
They knelt together, hands clasped.
“Forever loyal,” Keena said. “Forever sisters.”
