‎I stepped into the building, nodded at security, and entered the elevator, still checking my phone. ‎No reply. ‎Still nothing. ‎I told myself to stop. ‎The elevator doors opened. ‎Laughter echoed from the hallway. ‎The kind of laughter people make when they forget where they are. ‎It was loud. ‎Too loud. ‎That alone was strange. ‎My people knew when to work and when to be serious. I had a strict policy about that, and I didn’t joke with it. ‎I slowed my steps but didn’t stop. ‎Maybe someone had just made a joke.

It was an unknown number. “Hello?” she said, her voice trembling. There was no response, just silence. Then, a click, and the line went dead. Lisa stared at the phone, her blood running cold. Someone was watching her. She tried calling Oliver again, but her phone displayed a "no service" message. She looked around, and realized her home phone was also not working. She ran to her room to grab her laptop to message Oliver, but her laptop was also missing. Fear took over, and she felt like she was trapped.

Her mother's picture with a “MISSING PERSON” title written in bold on top of it. Joan couldn't believe what she had just seen. She lifted her eyes, which had circled in disbelief, making the pair even bigger than they already were, and set them on Grace. “Where did you get this?” She asked, her heart already beating twice as fast.

Upon looking at them, none of them recognized the stranger as the man on the sketch. Despite of Claire’s assurance of it being Daniel, her sister had another surprise for her. The man she had seen outside the window looked nothing close to Daniel’s portrait. Yet again, she had Jane describe the man to a police sketch artist for and ID. Yet again, they got themselves another suspect. This time, there was a match of the suspect’s sketch in the police database. To the police’s disbelieve and shock, the person had been reported missing a couple of years past and later presumed dead. Not only were people being murdered in mysterious ways in the city but also others were mysteriously resurrecting.
