Margaret returned the smile warmly and nodded before leading Julia toward a section filled with rows and rows of shoes — heels, sneakers, designer flats, boots, sandals, all arranged neatly like treasure on display.
The sales rep followed closely behind them, hands folded.
“Wow…” Julia whispered under her breath when she saw the variety. The colours, the shine, the arrangement, it was too much for her eyes at once.
Margaret pointed immediately, not even hesitating. “Skip these men’s shoes,” she said, waving her hand briefly. “And those outdated women’s ones too. Get one pair of every other shoe in my daughter’s size.”
