Watching her wake up has become one of my new favorite pastimes and I don’t want to miss it this morning, although she won’t wake up for another couple hours at least; she’s a night creature. I get up and walk back into the bedroom. Stopping at the foot of the bed, I laugh softly as I see the three of them tangled up in each other’s limbs. I then proceed to our library nook in another corner of our room, sit in my favorite chair, and pull out the romance novel I started to read last night. It is a good one. A story about an author who gets a movie deal and gets tangled up with the three male actors who audition to play characters in her book.

How cool is that?” “Hmm?” he raised his brows. “Did it pick your interest?” She wiggled her brows. “Ah, the guy has the same name as you, by the way,” She added.

I laughed so hard the composure I was building – of a high class woman – chartered, throwing back to Adele Ford, the simple resort owner surrounded by lovers of croissants, plus a dark erotic novel lover. A dark, erotic, romance novel. The goal was to stop thinking about Alexander, but only ten minutes into the book and I'm already imagining his hands all over me. I'm already imagining him bending me over the fucking window of my room and filling me up ruthlessly until all I can remember is the sound of his name on my lips.

It did nothing to quell the storm he had unleashed inside her. The memory of the kiss, the possessive grip of his hands, the wrecked sound of his voice, it was too much to process, yet a hunger had been awakened that demanded more. The following week, there was a seminar on power asymmetries in the modern novel felt like a special kind of torture. The subject matter which once would have been a purely intellectual exercise, now felt like a personal, pointed critique.
