Marky got nothing to do but to accept Zandro’s invitation, after spending some time with his Auntie Mae’s food house he immediately drove to Zandro’s villa. It was an hour’s drive from Hale University to the villa where he lives. The Villa only built on top of the hill, a big villa, the kind in which most bachelors have and dreamed of living secluded among trees on one of Moover City’s most exclusive streets, it had turrets, gables, dormers, balconies, a screened-in front porch, a free-standing garage, a gazebo, pool, formal gardens, an American dream.

The little white birds were adorable. Molly could not help but walk toward the pigeons, so she bought a bag of birdseed from one of the people selling it to feed the pigeons in the park. Molly opened it and took some of the seeds out. She then walked over to the pigeons, got down on her knees, and gave them the food. She looked at the little white pigeon, which stretched its neck and pecked once. Over time, more and more pigeons came to Molly to get food.

It was the beginning of everything. After I’d completed my official patrol of the perimeter, which included barking at two suspicious leaves, marking three separate trees, and breaking up a shady-looking pigeon gathering, I permitted myself to play. There were other dogs in the park. I knew them. Well, most of them. Milo, the golden retriever, has no impulse control. Olive, the rescue mutt, always brought a squeaky toy and never shared it with anyone. And a rotating pack of doodle variations who never stopped moving and probably ran an underground treat exchange.

The blue-eyed woman demanded, “I still haven’t received approval on my proposed changes and I signed the goddamn lease a month ago.” “Maybe because you’re puttin’ in a tattoo parlor, Ms. Ellison? It was unnerving. “Cookie Monster, come back here,” said the bird’s owner. “You’re a very bad boy.” Cookie Monster ruffled its feathers and then proceeded to fly onto a shelf that probably once held a speaker but was currently empty. It was also all the way up to the ceiling, at least eight-feet high.
