The image flashed again, the neat stacks of money sitting inside my purse like it was nothing. Like I was nothing. My jaw clenched again. “No,” I muttered under my breath. “I’m not doing this.” The elevator dinged open, and I stepped out, forcing myself to move like everything was fine.
