Before he could fire, Ronan was on him, pinning him to the wall. The man slumped, lifeless, as Ronan turned to me, his blue eyes blazing.

Her heart ached as Elizah turned her gaze out the window. "I’m sure the perpetrator wasn’t Liam. The police caught the wrong person, Julie. I don’t want to live like this. They let the real perpetrator walk free while Liam is imprisoned!" Elizah’s voice was heavy and filled with anger. Julie fully understood her sister’s feelings but could do nothing except try to calm her down. Julie fell silent, recalling something: "monsters." Yes, Elizah screamed "monsters," meaning there was more than one perpetrator. "Monsters. What do you mean by monsters? Did you feel there was more than one person?"

“‘This amazing.’” I finally let out a snicker. Mirasol looks like she wants to strangle both of us. Brent looks over at us as he pulls an index card from his pocket. “Here are the A.S.S. stats for the last year. Kill ratio 50%. Precision is 67% and danger is 70%.”

It began to fall into a passive backward position, at which point Azura pounced forward, directly stabbing the monster's eyes, blinding it completely. The beast has lost its target and is disoriented; it panics and runs around the room, frantically scratching and biting everything it touches.
