Nalani's POV The terror hit me like a freight train derailing in my chest, every nerve ending screaming in denial. That voice had haunted my nightmares for over a month. In those sweat-soaked dreams, Damian was a broken thing, a grotesque shadow of the man… a monster, his movements jerky and unnatural, like a marionette with half its strings severed.
