MY HEAD WAS IN pain because it felt like someone was pulling my mind tighter and tighter, and if they didn't let go soon, it was going to snap. I couldn't do anything about it either since I was still under the nightmare Master’s control, performing for these rich socialites or should I say sadistic assholes. Well, I'm not performing that is the job for the freaks that the night remaster sends me. What Doc doesn't realize is that his ability works, and where most of them are freaks, the nightmare master can't stand the sight of, since they are useless. So he sends them here to perform for these assholes.

If the door opened… I would know. Still restless, I returned to bed. I pulled the blanket up to my chin and tried to put myself to sleep. I prayed tonight would be better. It wasn’t. The nightmare came like a storm in the dead of night, violent, suffocating. Blood pooled at my feet, thick and dark, swallowing the floor. Screams echoed all around me, voices I couldn’t recognize but felt I should. I spun in place, trying to find the source, until I caught sight of a figure in the shadows, a snarling monster with fangs like razors and eyes like molten coal.

The battle was about to begin. From the shadows, they emerged – creatures born of nightmare, twisted parodies of nature itself. They were grotesque, their bodies a horrifying fusion of flesh and shadow, their movements jerky and unnatural. Some were vaguely humanoid, their limbs elongated and twisted, their skin a sickly, pallid green. Others were more monstrous, hulking behemoths with razor-sharp claws and teeth that dripped with a viscous, black ichor. They were the remnants of the ancient entity’s corruption, its failed creations, driven by a mindless rage and a thirst for destruction.

When the attendants were sure I was okay, they left. When it was just the two of us, Devyn settled back into his seat, but he leaned closer, resting his arms on my thighs. I tried not to think about it. “What happened? You were screaming in your sleep.” I recalled my nightmare and I felt a cold shiver run through me, “I had a nightmare.” “What did you see?” “It was a wolf-like creature. It lunged at me to attack but I woke up on time.” He paused, looking confused, then asked, “What more did you notice about this monster?”

It's a full moon tonight. The nightmares are here again. I am at the table, inside a deserted factory. Seven men surround me and the moon gets brighter. My breathing is intensified, and the shadow comes creeping. It's the shadow of a monster. It is no tiger this time, it's a monster with two heads. Mia really was a magnet for weirdos. He can’t deal with this right now. He wasn’t at his best today. Last night, he’d had a nightmare. It was dark except for an artificial blue light dangling above his head. Below the light, he was trapped in a pool full of blood, bodies, and huge wooden puzzle pieces. Corpses. Cut-up and torn. Bodies. Decomposing limbs. Eyes pulled from their sockets. Worms and maggots feasting on the carnage. And everywhere it reeked of blood. Even now and fully awake, he could smell it in the air.

“A choice.” I stared at the folder. “You’re not making sense.” “For once,” he said, “I’m trying not to.” And for the first time in a long time, Mason Andrews looked nervous. Genuinely, disarmingly, beautifully unsure. And that was the moment I realized… I wasn’t the only one afraid of what came next.

Jess sat up right and once more it was pitch black, that’s when jess understood what this was. “My nightmares.” Jess whispered, her voiced echoed in the darkness, but it was as if Jess had just said the key for everything to explode.
