“Skip the shower. Let me run you a bath instead. A hot soak will help. You need to let your body catch up with your head before you tear yourself apart.”
Before I can argue, he disappears out the door.
Parker moves to sit behind me on the bed, his hands smooth over my shoulders, and then he applies pressure, massaging the knots I can feel there. “You’re carrying the whole world up here,” he hums.
“It feels like it,” I say with a shaky laugh.
“Then let me tell you something that Ronnie used to tell us as kids, back when we were terrified and grieving.” He says softly. “Do you know why our Moon Goddess is always painted with her hands open?”
