The Alpha’s Mistake: Lila’s Rise from Rejection

The Alpha’s Mistake: Lila’s Rise from Rejection

LILA Evening spread across the Packhouse in wide strokes of silver and blue. The air cooled, I stayed in the garden with Mara, the ground beneath us soft from the day’s work. The moon climbed slow over the ridge, pale and full, washing the rows in light that turned every leaf into glass. The crescent beds glimmered as if carved from frost. I knelt beside the central circle with the last pouch of seeds and loosened the drawstring. “These open only under moonlight,” I said, holding out the small white kernels. “Moonwort and night jasmine. They bloom when others sleep.”

The One True Alpha

The One True Alpha

I didn’t feel like I was in the Silver Moon pack, the forest seemed different. Up ahead were a bed of flowers. As I paced closer towards them, I discovered an open field with hundreds—no thousands—of stunning white flowers. I plucked one, admired its beauty, and indulged in its beautifully strong, lemony scent. Ipomoea alba (moon flower), I remembered coming across this flower during my research for the herbs used in witchcraft. I loved how they blossomed in the afternoon and lasted only through the night. They reminded me of my comfort of being awake at night, feeling like my mind was clearer when I was in the presence of the moon. ‘There she is!’ I heard the female spirit scream.

Red Rose

Red Rose

"I don't want the grape vines to die." I pitied these vines, which seemed worthless to outsiders. I pitied myself too, who seemed worthless to outsiders. At midnight, Kash sent me home. I stood in the yard for a long time. There were many flowers planted here, almost all of which Jeffrey liked. I picked these flowers in turn and packed them. The tulip was planted after Jeffrey saw the wonderful colors it had. The Daisy, representing purity and love, was brought back by Jeffrey after watching a ballet performance. The Sunflower, with its vitality, was given by Jeffrey when he went to the amusement park.

Cursed Ugly Mate: Reborn for Vengeance

Cursed Ugly Mate: Reborn for Vengeance

Several older wolves narrowed their eyes at the two interlopers who had spent the last few days strutting around like they owned the place. Martha opened her mouth. Closed it. “Second,” I continued, lifting the crystal box so the light caught the petals, “this is not a wildflower. This is Moon-crown Blossom. It blooms once a year for a single day, high on cliffs no sane wolf would climb. It purifies even high-grade wolfsbane. I searched for years to find it.” Aman snorted from the sidelines. “You expect us to believe that’s some legendary herb? It’s a common weed. Don’t be ridiculous.”

The Wolves of Vukasin Island

The Wolves of Vukasin Island

Adara grinned, chanting: "Even a man who is pure of heart And says his prayers at night May become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms And the moon is full and bright.” Fawna smiled. “Dane is ‘a man who is pure of heart.’” “Agreed,” said Adara. This embarrassed me, and I turned my back to Fawna and scoffed. “A silly rhyme. This plant is perennial. It doesn’t bloom only under the full moon. Any botanist knows that.” Adara leaned to look closer at the blooms, and she reached to touch one of the hooded flowers.

he said excitedly to the others. The one with black hair closed his eyes, covering the irises that were the same color as the night sky. “She’s here,” he said in a whisper. He turned to the other three, a grin on his face, and continued, “The Moonflower.”

Mate of an Alpha Prime

Mate of an Alpha Prime

He supplied and a light seemed to go on. “I’m sorry what does that mean, is that just a name?” She asked interested and pulled out a little steno from her pocket and a pen. She wrote that down. She always wanted to know what the proper name was, and she called it a juniper lily. The flower looked like it grew out of a juniper bush, but had far softer stems. Not quite woody like normal juniper she’d seen. “More a name, it means forever bloom. They bloom even in winter, and can give temporary relief to pain speed up healing. No one has seen it in a very long time. How did you get it, when did you come over?”
