I am as strong as an eighteen years old girl! “ She exclaimed, making me burst into laughter. Mama Martha was above fifty and loved to bake. She has been assisting my parents at the bakery for as long as I can remember. She never wants to admit that she was getting old and always claimed to be strong and fit as a teenager.

I smiled politely, glancing up from my plate as Mrs. Smith beamed at me. “Oh, thank you, Mrs. Smith.” I returned the smile. “You’re too kind. You’re even more beautiful than I am.” The middle-aged woman laughed, touching her face lightly. “Well, we old folks can’t lose to you young ones.” Beside me, my mother chimed in with her usual charm. “Oh, what are you saying, old folks? You’re very young and beautiful, Mrs. Smith. Sometimes, I have to put in extra effort when dressing up because I don’t want you to outshine me.”

Mom looked at me and smiled. There was something in her expression I hadn't seen in a long time, something soft and unguarded, the kind of look I remembered from when I was small, before the divorce, before any of the wreckage that came after it. It made my chest ache in the good way, the way that comes from recognizing something precious you were afraid you had lost for good. "I'm proud of us," she said softly. "We can't erase the past. But we can choose how we move forward. Together."

Mum butted in. "The kind of friends you make," I muttered. I watched as Mummy headed out, Aunt Sienna walked alongside her. She turned back and waved at me, but I stuck out my tongue and made ugly faces at her. "You look like a vulture," she yelled and Mummy hit her head. "I love you, mummy," I shouted. Once Mummy and Aunty Sienna were no longer in sight, I dialed the customer care line, but they never answered. I didn't stop, I kept calling it continuously.

The woman's voice carried a hint of melancholy, yet her tone was unwavering. With a grave expression etched upon her face, she spoke with a sense of urgency. "Do not venture down the path that I have taken, no matter the cost," she warned, her words carrying a weighty emphasis. The mother seemed frail and somewhat fragile due to her thin frame. She appeared as if she may be taken from them at any time. Verity, a young girl of twelve, stood there in stunned silence, her mother's words leaving her utterly speechless. She offered a silent nod, her voice seemingly lost in the moment. The girl's face was awash with tears, her grip on her mother's hands unyielding.

A teacher turned friend asked and smiled “yeah" I'm jealous,one wouldn't guess that you already gave birth to triplets” she said and smiled while her face flustered " despite that,you still have the body of a teenager,if only i can be like that”. Just before she could respond three children came rushing toward her. The moment they got toi her presence, they all hugged her at once, forming a circle around her.
