CHAPTER 91 It was a White Christmas. After four years, the sidewalks were filled with the snow that fell in the morning. Michel watched the turkey grilling in the oven while Kate attended to the cranberry sauce. The two women chatted in the kitchen while Denzel and his father discussed plans to gain back the company. Michel was pleased to have her son home for Christmas and it pleased her more that Kate had been the one who suggested it. After much work, they sat at opposite ends of the small family dining table in the kitchen and ate apples.

“But that’s it. We promise.” “Well, will it be more or less Christmas-y than dressing up as Santa Claus? I don’t know if Molly has already told you, but she has me doing that this year, too,” Nicholas told her with only a hint of annoyance. “There’s nothing more Christmas-y than Santa Claus, right?” “Well, you’re right,” Molly agreed. “There’s nothing more Christmas-y than Santa Claus.”

Laura chided trying to hold back her laughter to save her friend’s face. The rest of the evening was fun with the women around. Petra, left some minutes after Maria had re-emerged to return home, leaving the rest of them in the house. The women had their dinner together and even succumbed to Laura’s wish to play Dirty Santa with Maria and Aria placed in charge of wrapping the gifts for the game. Afterward, all five women settled in front of the TV with blankets and popcorn buckets in hand to watch Jean Shepherd’s ‘A Christmas Story’. By midnight, they sang a Christmas hymn together and wished each other a Merry Christmas. Laura and Maggie then distributed the gifts they had brought for Maria

I curled up with Chris in his bed as we watched a movie. He’s been worried about me over the past week, which I feel bad about. I hate worrying everyone. Chris surprised me with a home-cooked dinner and a movie; A Journey Back to Christmas, my favorite Christmas movie ever. I sighed as we watched, “What’s wrong?” Chris asked; I shook my head, but Chris was not about to take that for an answer. He paused the movie and straightened up, waiting for me to talk to him.

Trick "Mom, are you sure it's okay for us to break tradition?" Riley asks, her eyes wide as she gazes at the Christmas tree box sitting in my apartment. "What's normal tradition?" I ask, opening the box up with my knife. Hadley smiles at her daughter. "Normally we wait until December 10th, we put on A Christmas Story, and we decorate while watching the movie play over and over again." "It's only a few days before the tenth," I look at my phone. "Today's the fifth, and if you want to watch the movie, I'm sure it's on Netflix. Why don't you go look, Sprite."

Alpha Sioux looked in the rear view mirror and said to me sarcastically, "Drama, our life is a drama." I smiled and asked him, "At least this Christmas Eve, Uncle Joey is going to propose to Miss Brian." Alpha Sioux faintly smiled and said, "Okay." I unbuckled the seat belt and kissed him on the cheeks and promised, "We will discuss after we retire to bed." and I put the seat belt on.

Michael preventing James from serving the meal until Haswell changed out of his suit and into the Santa-cursed pullover Mitch inflicted on him. To my astonishment, it was fun... I shiver. The knitted logo declares that 'Winter is Coming.' I shudder and tug up my collar. Winter's fucking come. Cradling a mug of coffee to keep my fingers supple, I wait and I watch. From indoors comes laughter, male and female. Music plays. It was all Christmas carols and glam-pop from the 80's when it started, but now it's shifted to some variety of soft classical. James' choice probably.

Paul had spent the whole day drinking eggnog, and then he switched to wine while he was cooking. Now that he had finished dinner, and had drunk an entire bottle of wine during it, he was completely drunk, sitting in the armchair in front of the television, watching one of the Christmas movies that come back every Christmas.

Before I can say a word, Nina has Josh up on his feet and prancing around the couches and pretty soon the whole room is filled with laughter including the cutest giggle of all that comes from my little girl. This time last year, Noah and I were both pretty tipsy and, after leaving my mom's house, we headed to the club for the night. I know what you're thinking, why would you go clubbing on Christmas night? Why is a club even open on Christmas night? The answer is pretty simple. First off, why wouldn't we go? We were two single men with no attachments whatsoever and aside from spending Christmas day with my Mom and Granddad, we had no other commitments, so if the clubs open then why not go?

Noel leaned his back against the top of the chair then looked around, "looks like everyone is going to have a nice Christmas, Nick." Nicholas looked at Noel, before he finally stood up. Tightening his coat, the man who had earned the title of 'Chief' said, "We'd better get out of here before your feelings get mellow, and the atmosphere between us turns into an 80s telenovela romance drama." As Noel got out of his chair, he pulled on a brown coat that was almost the same color as Nicholas'. "You're ruining my mood for coffee, Nick." "It's not me, it's Jason. Just blame him, blame Jason, why did he die in the days leading up to Christmas," Nicholas said, then walked away with a laugh that echo
