The elevator door slid shut before he could recover. She collapsed against the wall, gasping. Her hands wouldn’t stop shaking. Through the closing gap, she saw him standing there. Staring at his hand. Then at her. His eyes glowed green. “Run all you want, mama,” he said. His voice carried through the metal doors like a promise. “I’ll find you.” The elevator sealed shut. Mireya slid to the floor, tears streaming down her face. She’d just burned a vampire. And now he wasn’t going to let her go.

AVA'S POV “Fuck! This is just insane! Totally absurd!” I exclaimed, losing my cool alongside my regal poise. All I had wanted was to be reborn a vampire queen, maybe reset the time to when I had met Rowan or alter the course of events. I couldn’t see his face clearly because the lights were out, but I was willing to bet that he was blushing. “Forget I said anything,” he said after a while and focused on the movie. “What the hell are we watching now? Wait, is that guy a vampire? I bet he’s a vampire.” I smiled to myself and lay down. I placed my head on his lap and concentrated on the movie, too.

I whispered, running my fingers through her hair. “Me too,” she said, kissing me. “Mickey’s watching TV right in front of us,” I said with a grin. “We’re keeping an eye on her, right?” Jenny whispered playfully. Mickey was completely absorbed in the kids’ movie. We spent most of the film kissing. I loved playing with her hair and whispering things in her ear just to make her blush. By the time dinner rolled around and everyone else came home, I had already headed back. “How was babysitting?” Amber asked.

Out of all the places we could go, why in my bedroom, right? But wait, how did we get here in the first place, anyway? “Ho—how did we?” I sputtered, my voice laced with disbelief. I wasn’t dumb not to notice something supernatural had just happened. I certainly don’t believe in vampires, but I feel this was the case. Yeah, me and my brain, and I owe it all to my True Blood and Twilight fangirling. How crazy was that?! “Milady, could you explain to me why you were babysitting that pathetic man?” he asked, ultimately disregarding my question.

He paid for the meal, and we drove to a movie theatre. "The movie was terrifying; it was a horror film, and I dreaded watching it." I was always hiding under Pablo Escobar's chest, and I'm sure he liked it that way. I couldn't wait for the movie to end because my heart kept racing every time the vampire sucked blood, I was so terrified. "Babe, it's over," I heard, and I raised my head to see the vampire jump over a little girl and pull her heart out, and I screamed in terror, tears streaming down my cheeks.

Jenna knew they had probably heard the yelling, but Mark and Evelyn were trying to keep this from their children. After dinner, Jenna cleaned up the plates and ran the dishwasher. The twins and their dad sat in the living room watching a movie. The movie was about a human finding a vampire castle and falling in love with Dracula’s daughter. Jenna laughed as she walked back up to her room. How silly, she thought. Vampires and other supernatural creatures weren’t real; there were no zombies or werewolves. She opened her bedroom door and went to get her pajamas out of her drawer. She slipped them on and then went into the bathroom to brush her teeth to get ready for bed.

They were about to speak when the newborn vampire attacked Natasha. “NAT!” Sandy and Rizal exclaimed along with the other servants since they could not hold the newborn. “Oh my.” Natasha only reacted but what surprised the others in the kitchen especially, Morbius’s men was when she easily flipped the newborn vampire and broke her arm. It winced in pain as it moved away from her but it attempted to make her pay. Natasha sighed. She quickly cloaked herself and moved very fast as she suddenly appeared on its side before snapping her fingertips. The newborn vampire was stunned and fell to the ground looking frightened over her.
