Duty called him to the border reports, and with a lingering kiss on my temple, he left me in the care of the palace.

The first thing Mya saw when she walked into the conference room was Hunter. The vampire was pacing the length of the room, her hands buried deep in her pockets and her head down. Mya reached out and took Taylor’s hand. She knew what Hunter was going through. The only difference was that they would bring Gem back, if she had to burn Amber City to the ground, she’d find Gem! Taylor squeezed her hand and smiled reassuringly at Mya. Then let go of her hand and walked to where Amber stood talking with Michelle. Mya walked to Hunter.

I asked, unblinking at for the last minutes as mom went to grab some snacks. "I should be the one asking that." He scoffed, flashing a smile to my mother across the room. Ugh! That billionaire smile that I have a crush on. Just on that! There's nothing more. I just got a thing for a dimpled smile.

Akira asked when she opened the door. The driver was startled at the suddenness and ended the call, “I received an order that I must take you back to the mansion.” “Huh? What do you mean? We are supposed to go to the vacation house opposite the mansion since we will be welcoming my birthday there.” Akira closed the door, “Who ordered that?” “I-it was your grandfather.” Akira was surprised, “Wait, grandfather is currently at the frontline so why?...” “There’s been an attack by the vampires, Miss Akira.”

Despite the strangeness of the situation, Melia found herself finding his astonishment rather amusing. "Vampire..." he murmured, his gaze shifting towards Melia. "Like me or Wallace would let anything bad happen to you." Jesse scoffs, "Oh, that makes me feel so much better, thank you." "Yah. I'm serious," Joaquin mutters with a scowl, swatting at Jesse’s chest. "You think I'd ask you if I thought there was any chance it was dangerous? You think I'd ask you if Wallace hadn't approved of the idea?"

“Just ring the electric bell beside your lamppost, someone will attend to you. Sorry about that. Come, I just woke up from sleep and I’m bored. Let’s play some games and watch movies.” I followed Jimmy to his room. I prayed they didn’t get caught by someone else. A stupid prayer, I know God would probably not answer. “Which movie do you want to watch?” There was popcorn, a bottle of wine and two wine glasses. “Any vampire or werewolf, something very horror.” I was already munching on the popcorn. He looked at me like I said something disgusting. “What?” “Is your life not horror enough?” Fine, let’s watch this one.
