I say playfully. "You are now" she states. I accept the compliment with a small smile this time "whatever. Wanna watch a movie?" I ask "Do you even have to ask?" 🔹🔹🔹 After an hour and thirty five minutes of Nightmare on Elm Street, I'm so jumpy I swear I'm worse than I was when I saw that masked guy at the library. "I gotta piss" Lyra announces as she stands up. "Don't leave me all alone!" I cry out, jumping up.

"Maya, welcome. I'm glad you're here." Then he was gone, disappearing toward the stairs. I watched him go, seeing the tension in his shoulders, the way he moved just a little too fast. Like he was escaping. "He's been so weird lately," Sophie said. "Working too hard, probably." Melissa gave me a look I couldn't quite read. Like she'd seen something. After dinner, everyone migrated to the living room for a movie. I sat through thirty minutes before claiming exhaustion. Sophie hugged me goodnight. "I'm so happy you're here. This is going to be the best Christmas."

“I’m so glad about the progress you’re making.” Following a brief delay, I said, “Something strange happened last night.” “I'm all ears.” “I had a nightmare, the same as the last few days. But soon I realized that Sorcerer is one of them and he knows about Camera,also they have arrived even before went to bed when I was setting the camera. She laughed stepping away allowing me to do what was needed to save the chicken she was making. She sat down watching me cook and then proceeded to set the table so we could eat. By that I mean bringing the food to the coffee table in front of the couch facing the TV. “Movie night!” she yelled grabbing a bottle of wine. I could barely focus on the movie playing in front of me. As my best friend of course Claire realized, pausing the movie she turned to me a look of concern taking over her normal troublesome look. “Time for a best friend decompress.” She said grabbing my hand holding it in between both her hands.

Lowering myself to her level, I held her shoulders gently and brushed a strand of hair from her face. “No,” I said softly. “No, honey. You just had a nightmare. That’s all.” She didn’t look convinced. “Mummy has no reason to hurt Daddy,” I added quickly. “I’ll be back soon. And guess what? We’re spending Christmas here with Grandma and Uncle Elliot.” Her face lit up instantly. “Yeah.” “I’m just going to get a few things for Christmas,” I said. “I’ll be back.” I turned away before she could ask anything else.

Still, I barely even paused before I turned to the Nightmare eyes, not even bothering to close my eyes as I surrounded them with my illusions. They would turn pure black when I used my abilities, so I closed my eyes so as not to scare anyone. I didn’t care about scaring whoever was watching us with those damned eyes. Actually, I can think of a lot worse things that I want to do to them. Instead, I watched as the Nightmare Eyes got overwhelmed by my illusions and smashed into each other. I didn’t bother to turn around the face the four of them, knowing I wouldn’t actually be able to leave once I saw Aiden.
