The Goddess Vessel
Even some of the advancing zealots faltered, their conviction shaken by the sacred sight.
The leader saw his control slipping. With a snarl of pure hatred, he didn't reach for another weapon. He reached into his robes and pulled out a small, dark crystal. It was the same obsidian as the dagger, and it seemed to suck the light from the air around it.
"A null-stone," he spat. "A shard of the eternal eclipse. Your light ends here, vessel!"
He hurled it at me.
I felt it before it hit. A wave of nullification, an utter void of energy. The beam of moonlight wavered. The power inside me stuttered, like a heart skipping a beat. The null-stone flew true, aimed directly for my chest.
