This has been a much-needed break as she retreats back to the comfort she shares alone with herself. After changing into a lavender silk dress she places her Lens on the nightstand, lays on the bed, and dozes off the rest of the afternoon. The beeping sound coming from her lens wakes her up. It’s almost sunset, she could almost feel her empty stomach complain. She groggily picks up the lens and presses on the notification.

Authors POV It was night time in Maurice’s hostel, but Maurice couldn’t sleep. The large bedroom was dimly lit, the soft hum of the air conditioner filling the space. Beside him, Hailey lay on her side, fast asleep, her black hair spread across the pillow. She looked peaceful, untouched by the worries that always kept him awake at night.
