“Dream? You have me right here, husband.” That word—husband—still carried magic. Damon’s chest tightened at the sound, just as it had on the day she had said her vows to him. He opened his eyes slowly, those familiar dark orbs locking onto hers. For a moment, he simply stared, memorizing her face as though he still feared it might vanish one day. Then, a slow smile curved his lips, a smile so genuine it erased the last remnants of the man the world once feared. “And I still can’t believe I get to wake up to my wife every morning,” he said softly, reverently.

The next day the cyclone was still raging, which meant me and him stuck together in the villa. And after last night, I really don’t want to see Pierre at all, or his smirk. I walked to the huge study and started browsing books. The only good thing about my husband was that he had huge collections of books. I smiled at books from my favourite author. I took one and curled up on the recliner. As I opened the book, the smell wafted through my noise. I always found the smell of old book…amazing.

"No, i already ate my supper out!" How selfish. I thought. That he would have his own dinner out and not take me along or bring me anything. Like I never existed. I longed for a relationship where my husband loved me. Where he took me to eat out and gave me warm kisses and hugs. I was starting to wish of a new lover. If only I would be blessed enough to be granted a young lover who was still willing to love me even after finding out I had an old obsessive and abusive husband wouldn't have been a bad idea. I spent my day during the trip fantasizing about him. What he would look like. I dreamt of him. I had seen him in my dreams, fantasies.

I'm feisty, but that's his problem. The ugly old man just laughed. "Soon, you'll see me after our wedding," he whispered again. As if I will get goosebumps from his whispers. Never, ugly old man! "But wait, don't tell me you'll still be wearing a mask at our wedding?" I asked, annoyed. It's like our wedding is going to be a comedy. Damn! "Yes baby, it'll be a surprise when we're on our honeymoon," he replied. Yucks! What surprise is he saying?

I couldn't help but laugh. So, this was his so-called true love. They had not even been married that long and were already fighting each other. Who knew how long this love of his would last? I bet my face is red. Damn, why have I been nervous around my husband lately? He brings different vibes than the usually ′gentle family man′ vibes, more like ′dominating'.
