My House Of Horrors Novels & Stories

A house. It stood eerily alone, like something out of a horror movie. I didn’t remember seeing it when we drove in. Old-fashioned, creepy even, but fancy in a weird way. My breath caught—maybe I could hide there for the night. What’s the worst that could happen? It had to be better than wandering these streets at this hour.

I was glad I won’t stand out too much. We arrive at Xander’s house after a few minutes. His house was more of a dark side kind of house. It was gothic and gave you the creeps. Old cold men stood as statues lining up the way to the front door. Music thumped inside the house. It felt like a high school monster party. Okay maybe I watch too much Ant farm and paranormal movies. This would be a good beginning for a horror story where Zombies come attacking. No, zombies don’t have brains to plot this. Better yet, Vampires.

I walked around the bodies, numb but so torn as my eyes fixated on our house. I slowly walked over as if in a trance and made my way up the stone steps. I trailed into the house and stopped when I got to the entrance of the sitting room, to see blood pooled on the light grey carpet and splatters streaking the walls. The glass centre table was smashed into a million pieces, the yard door was shattered as the curtain blew eerily in the breeze. The home that used to bring me so much comfort and happiness felt ominous, dark and full of despair, like setting foot into something out of a horror movie.

It smells faintly of mildew and the entire house is wrapped in bad juju like a scratchy wool coat. It’s thick, uncomfortable, and suffocating.

The house was so old that I feared it would fall apart with is in it. There were 4 rooms upstairs and then an antic. I got into my own room and sighed in relief,no one to bother me anymore. It was getting dark already so we got settled in as Aunt Lora prepared dinner with mum's help. I could hear them laughing from upstairs,that's why I hated this house,it was in the middle of nowhere where you would see only farmlands and cows. Gosh.
