My Library Audible Novels & Stories

the message read. “This is my chance to find out what Alma is up to, I can't miss it” I ignored Haze's message, slipping my phone in the pocket of my trousers. I gently pushed the door open, the library was illuminated by the soft glow of a crystal chandelier, Heavy drapes covered the windows. The air was filled with the smell of polished wood and old paper. I've always liked the library, its towering shelves that were filled with books that had secrets to share, although I hardly ever come to the Hernandez library, I wonder what kind of books they stacked in here.

Then he looked at me as if trying to figure me out before gasping, “Oh! Your Azz’s kid!” “You know Azz!?” “Yeah! He’s my favorite customer! He talks about you all the time! You must be here to check out some books! My name is Mr. Bowman! Come with me!” He soon led me around the alley to the front of a huge library. ‘A library!? That means I might be able to do some research on how to get out of here!! I hit the jackpot!’ I thought. When we walked in, he asked, “So what are you looking for? Fiction? Non-fiction?”

Ears attuned to the slightest sound, she paused outside a closed door near the backside of the house and heard the unmistakable sound of books sliding across a shelf. She let loose a wolf whistle as she entered. The library was far larger inside than the unobtrusive door had presaged and was stocked with row after row, case after case of books. Enough books to start her own bookstore. “I knew I heard books,” she said to no one in particular. “You hear books?” Daniel’s lightly sarcastic voice came from the far left corner of the library. “Interesting. Most people actually have to read them.” “It’s a gift,” she said, shrugging. “What are you doing?”

He shifts back; putting a seat between us and truly looking horrified. Bibah simply shakes her head at our childish shenanigans and takes a sip of her iced latte, metal straw clinking in the Hydro Flask. “The Awoo Book Club’s pick for this week is H.P Lovecraft.” She pats the voluminous book atop the pile and I notice it’s the library copy of H.P Lovecraft’s Omnibus 3. “I’m so excited to roast his ass.”

It's come to my notice that I actually do that to him a lot. "Rica wait!" he's voice boomed through out the library. I turned back and gave him a look like he was crazy, I mean he might have as well been, didn't he know the librarian Mrs Agboola was a no nonsense woman, she could banned us permanently from the Library. Dili probably might have not cared about that but I strongly did. The library was my only form of safehaven in school, and I was very determined to keep it that way. "I don't think the people at Zuma rock heard you well, why not be a little louder ehn" I whispered sarcastically with yet another eye roll.

There was a deafening silence the moment I enter the library just as I expected, this is the place that I go with every time I have free time because not everyone goes here, students don't fancy coming into the library anymore and do their research here since google is already available in just a tap of a finger. I went to the far-end corner of the library where I hide an old and very outdated book entitled 'Werewolves Anatomy'. This book is the reason why I keep on coming back to this library, the librarian doesn't let me borrow this book, she said that if I want to read it then I need to read it inside the library since the book is expensive and a limited edition, that being said, I don't

The more I think about it, the more it sounds like a one-way trip back to the institution. Honestly, I wouldn’t even blame them. I sound crazy. But somewhere in my gut, I know I’m not. I just need to convince everyone else. I squash the voice in the back of my head reminding me I was certain last time too and look for somewhere a little less exposed. The library, converted from the old Anglican church they used to have on campus, looms over the quad. I barely ever go there because I got all my textbooks online, but I know there’s a section in what I think used to be a choir loft that only has one way in and out in addition to a view of the main floor. It’s perfect.

I know you heard me. 'Yes, I heard it.' I said to him. 'I am now reading the book I got from the restricted section of the library. There is something about this book, titled The 12 Sinners: The Demon's Souls. I think there is something here we can use to defeat them. Who knows, I will start here. Just enjoy them first, dude.' I heard Hunter's voice in my head. He is talking to me. I nodded my head even though he couldn't see me.

I can’t fathom why I do that all the time. Deliberately, taunting her with her past mistake. Believe me when I said, I fight all the time to resist the urge to taunt her with those silly mistakes. For the last three days, I’ve been frequenting this library as if I was coming to read. I’d choose the upstairs, and tossed some reasonable coins in the chief guard hands who’d lead me to a private room. I’d ensure it was at the last floor, cause the library was a three storey building. A old monastery library that was named after the first settler of this Australia kingdom, Ricavi library.
