Arian's pov I never thought a book club meeting could feel like a battlefield. Today, we are reading The Art of Forbidden by Linda Lively, and from the very moment I flipped through its pages, my face had been hot. The story is about a powerful president who was secretly in love with his male secretary, and if that wasn’t bold enough, the prose was filled with intimacy, longing, and heat. Naturally, everyone thought it would be for people to take turns reading aloud. But I wasn't really in the mood to read, not after what the police said to me.

"It's in the world. Anyone can read it. Including you." "It said — " he paused, selecting the words carefully the way he always selected words. "It said you were the most honest person the reviewer had ever seen in that kind of setting. That you answered questions without managing them. That you said things about your own experience that most people would be afraid to say in front of strangers." He paused again. "It said reading the book and then seeing you in person confirmed that the book is the actual person." She felt that. "The book is the actual person," she said.

Josephine was not sure if she had done the right thing. But her child's life was on the line. She had her back against the door, and her heart was beginning to race. Again and again, she told herself it was only a transfusion. She tried to convince herself that once I regained my memories, I would forgive her. She tried to convince herself that once I regained my memories, I would forgive her. Every trace of light in them had gone out, leaving behind only a lifeless wasteland.

Just a life of ease and luxury. Dear reader, you may be feeling so disappointed in me because of the decisions I have made by pretending to be someone I’m not. I know Rachel would have been disappointed too if she knew about the double life I was living. But don’t be so quick to judge. You can never predict life. Life has a funny way of throwing unexpected challenges our way. Sometimes, we find ourselves navigating through murky waters, making decisions we never imagined we would. I have a question that you must answer: What would you have done if you were in my shoes?

Luna's Pov I wake up every day dreading that I'm still breathing. A few times a day I find myself thinking"How am I still alive"? This a question I never find the answer to but maybe because... I'm a useless fool... A coward... A slut... A bitch... A dumb whore... At least that's what he tells me. As an eighteen-year-old girl, I am extremely underdeveloped physically and mentally. I can tell from looking at other girls in my neighborhood they all looked healthy while I was a bag of bones.

"Don't be so gullible. If the crash had really been that bad, that selfish brat would've dragged Felix down with him. How would Felix still be standing here, perfectly fine?" Caitlyn came over to comfort Mom, too. "Exactly, Mrs. Goodman. Sean is tough. He won't die so easily. If anything, it's a wonder no one else has died because of him." Ashley, lazily munching on an apple, muttered, "Wouldn't it be good if that annoying brat was dead? What's there to be worried about?" Though I always knew they were biased toward Felix, I never expected that I was so worthless in their eyes.
