As we finish our dance, I remember to remind her, “tonight you’ll shift for the first time, we will need to have you alone and with us only when it happens, just in case your Lycan is unruly.” She giggles, “I remember, and I will find you and Momma when I feel itchy.”

“I’ll be right back.” When I walk outside, I’m not surprised to see most of the Academy here waiting. Both mother and baby are healthy and doing well,” I say, looking down into the green eyes of my daughter that match my own.
