That, my dear, is a hickie, not a true mark. He temporarily marked you, that’s all that is.” Glinda pulled on the leash hard enough that Daine fell backwards in the grass with a yelp.

Mark lifted his chin, trying to wear his arrogance again, but it didn’t fit the same anymore. Not after the whispers. Not after the way his smirk faltered when he saw I was first. Still, he nodded, lips tightening as if to convince himself that third was still respectable.
