Hair a mess, pride in shreds. "Sorry. Too many fake sisters lately. Had to check. She's legit. Let her through." Told my team to lock her down, then walked off without a glance. Willa's plot armor still dulled anything non-lethal—I felt the resistance when I hit her. That afternoon, the peacekeepers hauled her off for a bogus "security review." That's when it clicked—she wasn't just bait. She was their weapon. The next few months blurred. I was locked in, locking down my spot in the base.

“If you had any backbone, you wouldn’t come back after leaving! “Now you’re still dreaming of returning to the pack and competing with Rose for her position. You’re truly shameless!” Leon’s words instantly caused everyone to look at me differently. “I thought Claire came back to care for her sister. I didn’t expect her to come back to steal her sister’s happiness. “Good thing Alpha Leon loves Rose.” The surrounding discussion made Rose’s eyes redden. She generously stood in front of me again. “Please don’t say that about Claire. After all, she’s my sister.”

I can literally picture Ellie throwing a tantrum when we got back because we didn't address any post card to her. My sister had this fancy book of hers with all her memories. The book was decorated with all kinds of glitter and stickers. It was not at all a pretty sight to behold. I was the more creative child after all. This book was where Ellie keeps all her slips, cards, tags and basically anything else that she feels is of importance. It’s her book of memories. My sister is sentimental indeed. Thus before we left, She had kindly threatened us to write to her specifically. I just had forgotten about it.

He told me. "You're right, there's something on my mind but there's nothing you can do to fix it, thank you for your concern, you're such a sweet man, my sister is so fucking lucky to have you in her life, I'm jealous." I told him. "You have me in your life too, matter of time before I'm family and when you want to talk I'll be there to listen to you, I promise." Damn his lips were in that fucking smile again, could he stop being perfect for just a second?

“Not the demons, my lawyers. They’re wicked and as crooked as the day is long, but they aren’t demons. They make me pay for their services with sex and money. I want to be free of them.” “That’s not all you want.” Once again, she was taken by surprise to the point she gasped. “My sister has a journal that I need.” “The one you killed your aunt for?” the witch asked with disdain. “How did you….” “Why should I work with such a spoiled child who would kill their own flesh and blood over a journal her sibling scribbled in?” “She was going to ruin everything,” Louella said, defensively.

My fingers had been a good eight inches away from the goddamn mark. In front of us, two rows of guards lined the entrance of the keep. The duo closest to the doors stepped toward each other to open them so we could pass through. I nearly planted my feet in the ground and refused to move another step, but my annoying sister sent me a death glare that kept me walking relentlessly forward, following Short Bangs inside. I ground my teeth once we made our way into the keep. “Fuck me, she’s here,” I whispered desperately. “She’s in here. Somewhere. Allera…”

My sister snarled softly, baring her teeth at me as though I was once again a child and she could scare me. But that was no longer the case, I had matured over the years and I intended to continue doing so, whether she liked my thought patterns or not. I snapped my eyes towards the store keeper as he flashed me a smile, a clear indicator that he had heard our conversation. Damn it, I scolded myself and my sister mutely, we aren’t supposed to confirm their suspicions of what we are; or why we live so far away from the civilised world. “I have collected everything on your list.” The pleasant store keeper smiled sweetly, handing us several bags containing vital necessities that our village need

I so wanted to stop the beatings when we came home, but mother led me upstairs - or dragged me, and locked my bedroom door. Inside the bookstore an elderly gentleman greets me, and I smile back at him but then he narrows his eyes, “You look very familiar. Have we met before?” He asks, and I shake my head. “I don’t think so, sir. But I am actually here to ask if you know my sister, or know somebody who did?” “Who is your sister, young man?” “Her name is Isabella.” “No, we don’t know her. Now you must leave.” He pushes me towards the door, but I slide out of his grip.

Mom said quietly as they got into the ambulance. "Your sister killed your other fine sister?" I heard someone ask. "She's not my sister, not anymore!" That was the beginning of my nightmare. But deep down, a part of me wondered if that was the only reason I cared so much about saving him. * My hands were still trembling from holding the spell book I’d stuffed into my satchel.
