An uneasy feeling settled over me—I could sense that something was wrong through the mate bond. As I sped through the streets, I picked up my phone and dialed my mother’s number. She answered on the first ring, and I heard her warm voice say, "Hi, sweetie." However, I quickly cut her off before she could finish. "Mother, did you notice anything unusual when you and Samantha dropped Sarah off at home?" I asked, my heart pounding in my chest as if it wanted to burst.

Alejandro's pov, We arrived at the place I had put so much effort in, just for her. A vacation house I had built just for my future mate, which turned out to be her. It was 2 hours away from the mansion. “What- what is this place?”. She asked, sounding surprised. “It is the surprise I told you about”. I said, and as I stood in front of the large gates, I declared, “Open the gate!”. And just then, the gate was opened, and I walked in with her still sitting on my back.

I bite my lip and try to think of the perfect mate. "She is special if she puts up with you". Brian laughs and Liam joins him. My best friends are so immature. Smiling in satisfaction I lay my head back and think of my mate.

“You feel it, don’t you? That we’re mates?” Without hesitation, he jerks a sharp nod. My lungs unfreeze, and I can breathe again. There’s never been a case of a male not recognizing his mate, but if it were going to happen, with my luck, it’d happen to me. “I guess you’re as surprised as I am, eh?” I try to smile, but again, I think I’m giving toothy chimpanzee.

I stepped out of the hall, the doors closing behind me as I linked my Beta, a smirk playing on my lips. “Matteo, prepare the field, I have a little surprise for my mate,"

He nods and then makes a show of staring at me with a smile, “Wait, are you jealous?” What? “Oh Goddess, you are.” Is he drunk? “No, I am not,” I push him away and he laughs. “You are. There’s no need to be, Minerva.” Yeah, that is the best thing to say to your mate when you have probably had sex with a zillion females. Classic. I fold my arms across my chest and he says, “I guess I have to apologize for a lot of things. I didn’t think that I would find my mate.”

But now it seemed that Mateo had forgotten all about it. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. Maybe there was a logical explanation for all of this. She picked up her phone and dialed his number, her heart pounding in her chest. Maybe he was on his way home with a surprise for her. But when he answered the phone, she knew something was wrong. "Mateo, where are you?" she asked, her voice trembling. "I have a surprise for you."

He's not like me. That sounds amazing." I mumbled my heart literally shattering as I said this."Yeah, what about you?" He asked grabbing a couple shirts and putting them in my box.Without thinking straight I blurted, "oh no... I don't have a mate." I dropped the box as I realized what I had just inferred."Of course you do." Isaac laughed bending over to pick the box up.

So I texted back. ‘Why? You didn’t have to Ryan, I could have covered it. You are only here in this situation because of me’ His response shocked the hell out of me and got my insides catching on fire. ‘She’s my mate. So yes, I had to’ I couldn’t type a response as I stared at the word ‘my mate’ in utter surprise. Now his reaction; which was only noticeable to me, made so much sense. Who could believe this unbelievable turn of fate?

I looked at Mari in confusion because as far as I was aware, there was no other reason to celebrate. I gave her a questioning look but she only grinned at me to which I frowned. Matteo walked up to where his sister stood and spoke. “I would love to Thank everyone present for this surprise party. Thank you all for being a part and making great effort to be here. As my sister has said, there's another reason to celebrate tonight and I'm sure everyone is anxious to know..... I would like to call up my love and the mother of my child” He said gesturing towards me.
