The crime scene was processed with the usual efficiency, but Casie felt the weight of the note in her pocket like a stone. As she and Rick drove to meet the Captain, she stared out the window, mind racing through possibilities. The symbols, the wounds, that ancient script—all pointed to something far beyond their department's usual homicides. "You're quiet," Rick observed, navigating through morning traffic. "More quiet than usual, I mean." "Just processing," she replied, the half-truth coming naturally after years of hiding her true nature. "These kills are escalating. The first two were found in abandoned buildings, but this one..."

He place his elbow on the table and lean closer. “We’re still gonna talk about Eamon but this a more pressing issue. What if Eamon got out of prison and gets killed by this thing ravaging the city. The only hint we’ve got on hand is that some strands of hair always falls off at every incident. For instance, from Lucas lab, from the wood and now in your neighborhood.” He wasn’t pressing the it for no reason, but because something in his guts told him, Dixon knows something but doesn’t want to say anything.

The note was crafted with meticulous care—letters cut out from newspapers and books, pieced together like a ransom demand, leaving no trace of handwriting. I didn't hesitate. Of course, I called the police. Only a fool would go alone. The officers arrived quickly and collected the note. As I expected, the messenger had left nothing behind—no fingerprints, no surveillance footage, nothing to trace. Greenfield Residences, the place mentioned, was a deserted settlement. Once slated for demolition, its residents had long since taken compensation and moved away. Yet for some unknown reason, the demolition had stalled, and the settlement remained in eerie abandonment.

I said what was on my mind and took out the novel I took from Becca’s place the other day I went there. “What is the title?” he asked me and I showed him the back and he smiled. “What? Why are you smiling?” “It says ‘Rebecca’s property’ in bold red letters” “Yeah, she told me she needed to devise new ways to let me know her novels remain her novels no matter how many I borrow and didn’t return, what is hers will remain hers” I explained to him. “Okay, I am not too clear with that but have you tried to claim her books before?” I nodded ‘yes’.

“Lucas said we have a few days but I keep getting this uneasy feeling. I’ll feel better once I know you’re safe.” “Whoa, slow down.” I held his arm to stop him. “Where am I going?” He stopped throwing clothes out and faced me. “I have an estate in Quebec that no one knows about, we’ll get on the next flight there.” *********************** The estate in Quebec was…different, much smaller than the palace and it had fewer wolves around too. Most of the wolves I saw around, appeared to be guards. We’d had to go through four separate layers of security before we were granted entry into the main building.

The sound replied “Aye, sir” The inspector entered into the Lusie’s grocery store and said hello, Lusie. And asked how was she doing. “Hey, inspector. Doing good”, replied Lusie. He took some medicines and few bottles of beer and came to Lusie. While Lusie was calculating the price, the inspector said to her that he is a bit confused. He also added that he must meet the man who took Jerry home. “Are you serious, is it needed to investigate the incident so far. Don’t you think you are doing too much”, Lusie asked the inspector. “You don’t know Lusie, a boy was lost around that area three months ago. And according to the saying of the family of that boy, the boy used to talk about a man who co

Two months into the third year, he had almost paid back the loan in full, he had also begun to set up farms in Iowa, Minnesota, and Ohio. During the summer of the third year Daniel was vacationing with his girlfriend in Los Angeles, California, when he was murdered in the same fashion as the other victims, with his left big toe chopped off. Like the murders of the other victims, there was little to no evidence that can be used to trace his killer. The case ended up in the basement of the Los Angeles Police department, as one of the cold cases they had no plans of revisiting. Danny poured himself a cup of coffee, before opening the profile of the third victim.

I shook my head and realised that this is getting more intense by the second, “I hadn’t realised so Doc, that’s the reason we have you here, to help me solve the mystery “- I said whilst walking up to her, I held out my hand and gave her hand a firm handshake. “We need an autopsy done as soon as possible, we might not be able to identify him but we can at least find out the cause of his death, anything that would help us figure out where the Hudson twins are or who has taken them.” I said to Dr Leslie, she looked up from her note pad and gave me a nod. I think the kidnappers jammed the knife in his chest to distract us from something else, something that we would find out from this corpse af

Inside sat stacks of cash, passports, documents, and property deeds. Elena grabbed everything she could carry. Money first. Survival first. Emotion later. Finally, she opened the drawer beneath the desk slowly. And stared at the gun inside. For several long seconds, Elena hesitated. Then quietly— She picked it up. The cold metal felt unfamiliar in her hands. Terrifying. But not as terrifying as Roberto Francesco. A sudden memory flashed through her mind. “You want me.” God. How stupid she’d been. How blind. While she stood there imagining kisses and romance, Roberto had probably already been drowning in blood and mafia politics.

Having Clara as a hollow-eyed ghost of a shell, like she was before she met Celine and Baz, made him worry. To veer her mind from wandering again and potentially slicing off a finger, he asked about Navio. This topic got her started with what happened as soon as she arrived on the scene. ‘Minus the sexy parts,’ she smiled secretly. The FBI visit, the list they had uncovered, and suspicions about her uncle and dad involved in the explosion.
