I leaned back against it for a moment, allowing myself to exhale, hoping the familiar surroundings would ground me. I flicked on my laptop, deciding to dump whatever discovery I’d made last night—dark lords and whatever shit—attempting to shift into work mode. There were two notifications that immediately appeared. ‘Jax_Hemmings sent you a message.’ ‘Jax_Hemmings posted a photo.’ She clicked on the message, and she immediately saw Jax’s message, which was a pic. It was a photo of the bright moon, and Jax left a message below. ‘The moon is beautiful tonight, isn’t it?’

It was one notification after another. My frown deepened, as I narrowed my eyes when the notifications weren’t stopping. Confused, I unlocked the screen and the second I did, my eyes widened. 99+ Notifications. 99+ Messages. 99+ Mentions. The soft ping of a notification pulled me out of sleep before the sun had even touched the windows. I groaned and blinked toward my nightstand, arm stretching for the phone blindly. Just a timestamp. 4:47 a.m. My pulse kicked a little faster as I opened it.

Another message. I open it before I can stop myself.

He stood near the mic and tapped into it twice before speaking. "Welcome everyone to the annual championship game. This event is going to start just exactly as the moon comes up..." The moon which I had learnt was the Mystic Moon. It was crescent-shaped and had a variety of stars surrounding it. It comes up only on July 7th of the year, and it had never changed.

/Meelah’s POV/ As soon as Mr Kings drops the call, I launch my W******p to make a group call to my girls, only for me to realize that there are series of people that have been messaging me consistently on W******p for hours now, it is just that I have configured all my apps in such a way that if I don’t launch the app, the background details of the app won’t automatically refresh over my mobile data. I am always way too busy with real life to be getting unnecessary notifications from apps so I turned off the icon so that those notifications won’t unnecessarily cloud my notification bar to threaten my peace of mind.

Didn't want to open it but the notification got annoying and I wanted to snooze it only to tap on the messages from unknown. "What tye fu@k?" ... TBC
