Mythological Creatures Phoenix Novels & Stories

But then I heard myself answering her question. "Phoenix is a mythological creature. It emerged as a new and stronger bird from something that has been destroyed. That was me. A long time ago. I died and rose from my own ashes." I stood up and got a slice of pizza. "Wow." I heard Mamba say. "I'll just take a bath." I said and left them. I could still hear the jolly voice of Mamba, asking the same question to Sphinx. I shook my head. She doesn't seem to be tired from our boxing session.

"But I'm going to find out." --- That night, I dream. I'm standing in a field. The sky is dark. The air is cold. And she's there. The woman. The one from before. The veil. "You're still here," I say. "I'm always here," she says. "I'm always with you." "The mark is gone. Julian said I'm human now." "You are human," she says. "But you are also something more." "What?" "You are the Phoenix," she says. "The one who rises from the ashes. The one who breaks the cycle. The one who saves the world."

I stepped in close, close enough to feel the tension in her shoulders. “It’s not another woman’s name,” I said. “It’s Old Norse. Brenna means ‘to burn.’” She raised an eyebrow, skeptical. “So I’m fire now?” I nodded once. “You’re more than fire. You’re a phoenix. You burned. You broke. And you rose again. That bastard tried to turn you to ash, and you came back stronger.” Her mouth parted, but she didn’t speak. I kept going. “I didn’t give you that name because it was pretty. I gave it to you because it’s truth. You’re not someone I saved. You’re someone who survived.”

“Your dad really left you in the dark, didn’t he?” I didn’t reply, and that silence was answer enough. Vivian’s voice took on a reverent tone, like she was speaking of ancient myths made real. “Phoenix wolves are among the rarest and most powerful beings in our world. Not just werewolves—they’re something beyond. Something sacred. They don’t just shift; they burn and rise. They carry the fire of rebirth, with powers that rival the moon goddess herself. They’re like divinity walking in flesh.”

Moments later, the alarm sounded, acknowledging the Dragon King leaving the building. "Lazareth, I need you to go and find your witch friends; tell them without their help, I don't think Charlotte will make the transition. I'm afraid the dragon spirit that bound itself to her is a legendary one." There was a wealth of knowledge in such few words, the underlying worry in the healer's voice enough to convince Lazareth to hurry. And nodding once more, he unfolded himself from the chair and sprinted out of the room. Titan waited until they were alone, before speaking to the unconscious girl.

(Five years later) Lyra’s POV I leaned against the dark tinted window of my limousine as it drove past the City. My reflection stared back at me, my face covered with a Phoenix shaped mask that only allowed my eyes and mouth to be seen, it was my Trademark. The world now knew me as The Phoenix, the name wasn't just branding. It was my story. I had risen from destruction, rebuilt by hands that should never have held me together, and now the very fire that consumed me was now my fuel and weapon.

Ashley explained more. " But why did you bring me here, Mom? " Phoenix asked. " To prepare you " A voice answered prompting Phoenix to turn. Right at the entrance of the temple was a Fire Bird( also known as the Phoenix bird). It shape-shifted into a pretty woman who walked up to Phoenix with a pretty smile. Phoenix was yet to digest that when she heard and saw 10 different Fire Birds, flying around the temple. They all landed inside the temple in unison, turning into different women. Their hairs were all tied up with the same red-feathered hair tie as Phoenix's.

By sunset, only Adrian’s people remained. Adrian led her inside, his sharp gaze was all over her. The grand entrance boasted a massive chandelier, dripping with crystal, reflecting light across marble floors polished to perfection. A staircase curled up to the second floor, its golden railings gleaming under the dim lights. Art pieces hung on the walls. There was no doubt this was the home of someone who controlled everything within its walls. "Listen carefully, Seraphina," Adrian finally spoke, turning to face her. "There are rules you will follow if you intend to stay here. Break them, and we will have problems."

I said in a low tone. Phoenix turns back to the golden creature. “I will leave here just as I came as the revealed golden wolf of Shadowpine. I will fight without divine intervention.” I exhaled a shaky breath. Relief and fear mixed in my chest. The golden creature’s eyes gleamed as if it had expected this answer. “Then, so be it.” A sudden wind rushes through the sacred region, making the trees whisper with an otherworldly hum. The creature’s massive form began to glow brighter, its outline shimmering like a star about to explode.

Upon reaching this note, I eyed Freya up and down and asked in a confused manner, "You seem really lively. It doesn’t seem like you have been infusing divine power into the egg. Are you sure you’re not neglecting it?" The moment I said this, some people caught on to what I was hinting at. Phoenixes are more powerful than any other beasts. This also meant they needed to be nourished with more divine power from a young age. The relish of having laid a so-called "golden phoenix egg" had gotten to her head. Her arrogance ended up offending many members of the clan. Even Emmett had been getting ahead of himself and had been publicly challenging Asgon by boasting of his seniority.
