Finally, on a bright and beautiful morning, I gave birth to a healthy male pup. When the nurse placed the tiny, wrinkled pup into my arms, tears instantly filled my eyes. Eric held my hand tightly. His eyes were filled with tears too. "Leah, thank you. You've been through so much." He leaned forward and kissed my forehead affectionately. The pup had Eric's eyes that were deep and bright, but his nose and mouth looked like mine. Looking at the pup born from our love, I knew every hardship had been worth it.
