How to Avoid Death on a Daily Basis

How to Avoid Death on a Daily Basis

Schneed was treating Marv like he was male. And who was I to say he wasn’t? The fantasy world was full of strange creatures. Half man, half horse. Head of an eagle, body of a lion. Maybe Marv was one of those. The fabled chick with a dick. Didn’t appear much in Lord of the Rings, but probably turns up in A Song of Ice and Fire at some point. “Now,” said Schneed, “I’ve told you things that would be disastrous if the other side found out. Absolutely disastrous. I’m trusting you to keep all this to yourself.”

MOONBORN: THE REJECTED MATE'S RISE

MOONBORN: THE REJECTED MATE'S RISE

By the second night, the creature had claimed a name. We found it carved into a tree, the bark bleeding black sap. Nyssara. A fusion of Nyx—the shadow of death, and Aria. My name. Twisted. I stared at the carving for a long time. It meant this creature didn’t just want to kill me. It wanted to replace me. And in a world where magic shaped perception, where memories could be manipulated and bodies copied? That was almost worse. As I returned to my tent, I saw movement inside.

Jai asked. The creatures seemed to look at each other before looking back at each of them in anticipation. “I guess that’s a yes?” Jai looked at Darrion with a doubtful smile. “Hmm,” Darrion looked at the one in his arms. He thought for a while. “They’re eggs. Small. Small feet. Their skill is sitting duck and running. Ducky?” Jai sweatdropped. “Can’t you find a name that’s fancier? Naming them ‘Ducky’ would be something of an insult. Besides, they’re not really ducks.”

Siren and Wolf

Siren and Wolf

"Well, there was this time that I had a vampire friend named Ethan. He liked to suck the blood of dwarves." "Dwarves what other creatures are there in the world that I don't know about?" "Well, let's see there are unicorns, goblins, witches, vampires, and dragons. Oh and gnomes, and the occasional elf appears on the globe once in a while. And then there are the damn sirens which I have yet to figure out where they're located."

I frown. Then my pulse rises. “So, I’m dead? And this is punishment before I ascend to Heaven?” Sin’s beautiful face scrunches. “No. No, you are not dead, November. Stop thinking that, it drives me crazy. Just listen to me.” He pants. “Ghouls, the things that attacked the mansion the other day. I created them during my first attempt in creating life. Then came the Fairies. They were nothing like humans, so I continued. Then came the Minotaur, then Trolls, then the Goblins, and then, Djinn, the Centaur, Cyclopes, Ogre, then the hilarious looking ones, the Leprechauns.”

Before the night falls

Before the night falls

There are four kingdoms standing and ruling their own lands. In the East is the Land of Conorrah, inhabited mostly by elves, faeries, dwarves, centaurs, gnomes, and seemingly innocuous creatures. It's currently administered by the 3rd generation Wisdom pillar, which was a nymph. They typically nurture healing and growth spells, everything relevant to nature. In general, every creature she stumbled upon in every fantasy book that she read when she was young is living in this place. Her face still wrote the feeling of ridiculous disbelief on her face. Nothing of this is supposed to exist.

she nods, “So we’ve got genies, vampires, witches, and demons. What else? Yes, I know that’s not what they’re called, just let me use the terms I’m familiar with.” I shrug, “Doesn’t bother me one way or another.” I return my attention to her list as I turn the page, “Merfolk are real, they’re called sirna. Um, werewolves are real, they’re mutolupus and none of that full-moon fuckery. There are also beings that you won’t find on this list such as nagatas, which are basically like snake people and irshiusts, who are walking lie detectors. Hmm.” I continue to scan through the lists seeing if she’s included what I’m looking for, “Ah, yes,” I say with a smile, “Thunderbirds are definitely real, t

I really like this series! It’s original, hot, well written and we get attached to the characters. There’s so many of them tho that I can’t just read without taking notes ... But it doesn’t change the fact that the book is great! Really liked Gabriella and would like to get more on Derrick!

A CUPCAKE FOR MY WARRIOR-MATE

A CUPCAKE FOR MY WARRIOR-MATE

"It's a mighty and dangerous creature that feeds off on other beings. Once it sets eyes on you, it transmits the wavelength of your soul and breaks them down into dissonances. As soon as it sees the resonance of your soul, it will suck it up thereby making it more powerful." Germaine did not understand a word of the nonsense Ennie had just sprouted. Resonances and dissonances. Those were words that made absolutely no meaning to her. She was still reeling from the possibility of there being other creatures in this realm. As the Loa crashed further on, she looked to where Ennie shook like a leaf and asked. "Apart from werewolves and Loas, are there any other creatures in this realm?" Ennie nod

Shadowed Creatures

Shadowed Creatures

They gave birth to powerful witches who in turn created powerful covens. By the turn of the new millennium, other creatures had appeared. Created by other forces. Werewolves hunted alongside vampires in the night. The Fae, the most mysterious of all creatures resided in the dense forests within their fairy rings or in the still waters of the lakes and ponds in the forms of water nymphs. Gnomes and leprechauns set up home in the hills and wetlands. Other creatures which once roamed the world a plenty were becoming extinct. Creatures such as dragons and unicorns each were hunted to extinction for the magical healing qualities.
