“Don’t beg now—it’s pathetic. Just think, this time your babies go with you, so they won’t grow up motherless like you did.” Nancy sobs as Carmen turns and exits. Shit, this is worse than I thought. I’ve got to get Nancy out before Carmen hurts her. Colin’s not here. I check my phone—no replies from Cap or William. Guess I’m on my own. I tap the window to get Nancy’s attention. After the second knock, she looks over, her face soaked with tears. Her eyes widen, then soften—probably realizing it’s me, not my brother.
