Chapter 3– Banished, not broken. ~Kyra~ Fate doesn’t whisper to you when it’s coming. No, it snaps your neck mid-stride, without mercy or warning. The exile spell had already begun to eat me from the inside. My legs trembled, hands shook. A tear slid out of my eyes as reality crashed down on me. I was banished. Exiled. I was no longer the Alpha princess. I no longer had a home. I was now an orphan.

A scandal. "What happened then?" "An Alpha isn't allowed to break the sacred bond. Shadowbane felt humiliated. As a consequence, Alpha Tharion was stripped of his title. His mate bond was forcibly broken. He lost the ancestral blessing—he could no longer shift, lost his instincts, and all his supernatural gifts. He became... like a regular human." I needed to know more. "What happened to him after that?" "He was banished from the pack. He and his lover left, and no one knows where they went. Maybe they lived among humans, maybe they disappeared into the woods. Our pack erased him from our history."

Ashley’s P.O.V. “I, Alpha Vincenzo Anderson, reject you, warrior Ashley Miller, as my mate and Luna. You are banished from my Enchanted Gardens Pack.” When my mate uttered those words, I knew that my life would be another name of suffering. Ending up in a rogue’s pack was just the beginning of my nightmare. Five years had passed, and I was stuck in an endless cycle of misery. Surviving every day was a new challenge for me.

In front of everyone, he made his proclamation. "I, Earl Joseph Nightwood, hereby officially declare that Elizabeth is stripped of all titles! She is banished from the Nightwood Clan, forever!" The hall was dead silent. Joseph sneered at me. "You're so proud, aren't you? You think you're irreplaceable? Tomorrow, I will sign the treaty with Prince Archon himself! I will prove to everyone that I can reach the pinnacle of power without you!" Faced with this sudden, public banishment, I didn't fight. I didn't beg.

Nani was about to bid her goodnight, but there was still one more question Ava had to ask. “Nani.” “Yes?” “What happened with Ria and Vivian? What did Lucas do with them?” The matter piqued her curiosity. She’d heard Meeka saying that Lucas took care of them before her mother took her away, and then Kiara also mentioned that they’d lost their home and were thrown out like animals. Whatever happened to them? She wanted to know. Nani contemplated, and then answered. “They were banished today, Ava. Banished from the dawn pack for good.”

"You're banished from my pack; you've been banished since the first day I saw you." My eyes widened, and I felt like I just fainted and resurrected. I would have been on the ground by now, but thanks to the chain holding me to the woods, I was still standing and didn't look too fazed. But within me, I felt my world crumbling, my mind racing with thoughts. I never imagined that one day I'd be banished from my pack and turn into a rogue. But people like me don't get banished; the worst criminal in this pack hasn't been banished. Why me? Would I still be taken away from my foster family, just as how I was taken from my biological family?

The responsibility of being the Alpha was not something I took lightly, but it didn’t change the fact that, the thought of the ceremony that was about to take place weighed heavy on my mind. Aside that, I was also burdened by the memory of Alana, the girl who had been banished unjustly from our pack and whose death still haunted me like a deathly plague. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't shake the image of her innocence from my mind. Her vibrant eyes and infectious little laughter had been a bright spot in my life before she was unjustly accused and forced to leave. And now, I was about to make Nadia my mate, the very person who had played a huge part in Alana's banishment.

She had enough to deal with. “Nicolai, what do you want from me?” I whispered, my voice barely audible over the roar of the bond in my ears. He looked at me for a long moment, his jaw clenched, his fists at his sides. Then, as if it took everything in him to control his emotions, he spoke again. “Once I become Alpha, you’ll be banished. The pack doesn’t need someone like you. Especially not with the bond still lingering!” The words hit me harder than anything else he had said. Banishment. He was going to cast me out, just like that.

“I don't care whatever you say, Leonardo. You can accuse us however you want, but you're not in the position to tell us what to do. You're just a lowly gamma who can't even move on your own without your underlings. I hope you know your position and stop being so boastful.” Gamma Leonardo seemed to have lost the will to play his game. Mom forced our way out of the place. I could almost feel their eyes on our backs as we walked away. I heard Gamma Leonardo cursed under his breath, probably because he tasted his own medicine, and instead of humiliating us, he only made a fool out of himself. We went back home. I know I'm already dead if not because of my mother. Those eyes show how much they wa
