“She has to be! She just has to be,” Nate said, stretching his arms and shoulders.
I laughed. Nate was the last of my close group to find a mate, and I desperately hoped he didn’t have to wait as long as I did.
“Well if you come across a pup shifting by herself in the woods for the first time, you should probably run the fuck away,” she laughed.
“Oh come on, have some sense of adventure. It’s just not always perfect like the fairy tales want you to believe,” I said, standing up and grabbing my mate.
